Giving Feedback

I was asked to give feedback. So I thought this was a good idea. What **bleep** me off is that if I was satisfied with the product, I had to submit a 64 character detail. I was interested in details. I'm not wasting my time keying in extras. If the prodcut is rates a satisfied, leave it at that. Ebay, I'm not your monkey to add value to your site. Forever after this, I wont even bother.

Re: Giving Feedback

That's odd.

If you look at most feedback, left or recieved, it's usually between five and 20 characters. "Fine. Fast delivery" or "OK"  like that.

I wonder if you were told you could leave up to 64 characters?

Re: Giving Feedback

You're never under any obligation to leave feedback. If you don't want to....
Don't.

Re: Giving Feedback

The OP is why there is such thing as a blocked bidder list. Such a buyer is probably not going to understand DSR's either and get the seller a big fat defect for nothing.

Yes it was up to 64 characters. But I mean its self-defeating in my eyes. I have ten items, I'll leave skip the feedback altogether. It's a shame that if I was sastified I'm being punished with the extra work with the Why. Think of it as if I was at a resturant. " How was your meal sir?". "It was very good",  and they say "WHY was it very good?", you cant leave leave until you tell us!.

Anyways, I'm going to alter my behaviour on feedback as to skip this. So the loss is on the community and the vendor, and thats too bad.

Re: Giving Feedback

If you use the same feedback(s) every time, typing in the first few letters will make the rest of the phrase fill in automatically.

My standard is Thank you for your prompt payment. Shipped Canada Post Air Mail.

Typing TH is enough to complete the feedback.

I do not understand your complaint. All of the feedback you have left is only a few words per transaction. Nothing more is needed. Feedback is for giving your appreciation of the seller and the transaction, not for reviewing the product.

If you are happy with the seller's service and with the item, then your feedback should be positive and any DSR (star) rating you leave should be 5 stars.  If you feel the need to leave neutral or negative feedback and/or less than 5 stars for any of the ratings, you  should contact the seller with your concerns before you do so, in an attempt to resolve the problem.  Any unfavorable FB or rating can restrict a seller's ability to sell so these should not be handed out lightly.

Another thing to consider is that the feedback you leave for others can be viewed just as easily as the feedback you receive, and it is a lot more telling. If you leave too many neutrals and negatives, you may be viewed as a problem buyer and some sellers will block you.

Keep all of this in mind whenever you leave feedback.  Sometimes if you're not 100% happy but there wasn't really anything wrong with the seller or the transaction, the best thing to do is to leave no feedback at all.
