Having to add tracking info - not auto anymore?

Having to add tracking info - not auto anymore? This use to be done automatically before and the item was switches to the Paid and Shipped Section - what happened? Is this a glich?  Hope its fixed soon - pain in the but!

In my experience in most cases when I marked SHIPPED I can not add the tracking number instantly.

When I reattend the item few hours later I am able to add the tracking number.

Reported to eBay a while ago, they said they will report it to IT people.

I don't use it that often but it seems to not work frequently when I do.  I have also tried at various times later on to add the tracking but was unable to do so.

I just noticed something. Mostly I use Light Packet or Letter rates, and self-insure, but recently I used Small Packet Air US or International Air.

While these are neither insured nor tracked nowadays, the number I was given by the PO when I dropped the stamped parcels off  could be entered as "tracking numbers". The number I was using was the bar code at the bottom of each receipt although since I use discount postage stamps, the actual cost was $0.00 on the receipts.

What it means, I cannot say.
