Good evening.
I was wandering how someone (with score of 99% and less) can still bid or buy from me after I have chosen the option: block buyers with a score equal or lower than -1 ???
It happened twice so far and of course, it ended up with people who didn't want to pay for the items they have bought (score of 97%). Again, I had to open unpaid items cases...what a waiste of time and energy...
Thanks and Happy Holiday to you all, Youckoulele

Do you have a Block on buyers with Unpaid Item Strikes?

Your Feedback percentage is 100%
Your Feedback score is 316
It is essentially impossible for a buyer to have a score of -1, this particular block is a meaningless leftover from an earlier time when sellers could leave negative feedback for buyers.
If you have a buyer with a 99% percentage they must have sold at least one thing in the past 12 months.

Youckoulele 🙂

So you are telling me that preference "Have a feedback ... -1 is useless". I see. And also score and % is different (English is not my mother tongue 🙂 So how can I block people with low % ? Thanks, Youckoulele

Hello. Indeed, I was misunderstanding what -1 meant. Silly me (English is not my mother tongue 🙂
Anyways, I'm desperately trying to find a way not to have so many people bidding on my items and finally not buying them. Sooooooooooooooo fed up !!!!!! Buy it now is a way, but there are fees.
I had that person who bidded and won (a beautiful vintage 1930,s set of 5 J. Steinbeck books). Decided he was not gonna pay. I contacted the person twice, no answer from his part, so I opened an unpaid item case. But at the lassssssssst second, he finally pays. So far so good. But I had that strange feeling that was not the end of it.
Hopefully, I shipped the items with a tracking number. A week later, he opened a non received item case ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know why, but it was no surprise to me. Anyways, I called Ebay, explaned everything that had happened, and to my BIG surprise, the agent rules out in my favor (TG I had provided them with the tracking number).
But I canno't always ship with a tracking number, really $$$ from Quebec.
Cheers, Youckoulele

I would recommend making that buyer block stronger and change it to:
Have received 2 unpaid item strike(s) within 12 month(s)

Good morning.
Tha's a very good idea, I will change my buyers preferences from now on to 5 unpaid item strikes within 12 months. That is so weird,on my last 5 sales, 4 of them won't pay!!!!! Frustrating................ Any ideas why ??????
Kind regards, Thanks a million, Youckoulele :-)))

I noticed that 2 of the last 5 sales the shipping cost was more than the price of the item. Overall the shipping costs are high compared to the item cost. This is probably a big part of the reason. Many buyers probably do not notice the high shipping price until after they have purchased the item.
I understand that you have to ship these as packages because they are too thick for letter mail, which makes the shipping cost high.
The shipping cost of 3 items I would assume would be the same price as for 1. My goal in your situation would be to drive the overall shipping price down relative to the retail price of the overall lot.
What I would suggest in your situation (I do similar things in my "stamp world") is group them into logical groups, like a "dog family" of 3 items instead of 3 individual items sold separately. This way the shipping cost drops down to 30% of the grouped item cost instead of over 100% of an individual item.
I am not familiar enough with your category to really suggest proper ways to group them but that is the approach I would take if I was trying to sell this type of material and faced with the shipping cost dilemma you have.

2 within 12 months would be better.

Good morning to all, thanx for your responses.
It's getting worse and worse. On ten of my last sales, 2 only paid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm an expert now at opening unpaid item cases......
These items I sell are collectables (yes, believe it or not...) People have a special bound with animals so I think Pet Shop dogs, cats ... are some sort of a sequel to that. These little figures are really well made, little girls adore them (and boys aslo) and collectors crave for them.
Some can go up to 200$ for one piece only. I sold a dog for 75$ US. Anyways, here in Canada the S&H costs is a bit higher than some places (specially with a tracking number). I do offer combined S&H. Si I have to list most of my item individually but sometimes a offer lots.
The thing I don't understand: before I bid on an item, I ALWAYS check for what the postage is gonna cost me. In my listings, it is written I ship from Quebec City Canada. So, I'm gonna add '' Check your S&H costs before bidding please"
What happen with these collectable items iI strongly beleive is that people bid many times on the same item (same bread of dog for instance) but at different stores and pay for the bid they wan that cost them the less. But don't they care about unpaid item strikes ????????
I also put the ones who don't pay on my starting to be, very full list of blocked buyers.
Chhers to all and if you think of something else, I will be glad to read you, Youckoulele :-)))
