You cannot get orders back from 2008 in My eBay. The farthest back it will go is 2014. Sorry to give you bad news.

Sorry to say but eBay just keep a 3 years history. That's why I always keep backup of all my email from eBay and Paypal.
Hope you have it somewhere else...

..And.. it looks like PayPal has some sort of website error because it won't let me go back in my history there. I seem to remember that I was able to go back to 2012 before there though.

Paypal will cooperate with Revenue Canada in providing your back records, if that is the problem. But I think RC has to ask them politely.
If you were buying for resale, those would be recorded.
Finding a eight year old record of purchase--- that will take a lot of searching, especially if you use your PP account for buying on several platforms.

Can't do it for eBay.
If you paid via PayPal you can access the records IF you select Classic Site when looking at your transactions -- the current paypal default seems unable to go back before 2013. With Classic I was able to back over 12 years and look at each individual payment (including what eBay title was used for the item I bought).
I'd do it soon before paypal decides all old records can be just thrown away....

For the stuff you sell, you should be saving your detailed monthly eBay invoices (available for downloading from eBay for the previous 18 months). And as above, anything older than that has to be scalvaged from paypal.

I constantly find it annoying that eBay only keeps purchases on file for a few years.
Etsy NEVER erases those records. I can go on Etsy and find every item along with a picture and price I've purchased on the site.
Very convenient!
If Etsy can do it, why can't eBay?

Etsy has fewer sellers and even fewer buyers?
They've only been around since 2005, while eBay was founded in 1995?
Data storage costs money?
