How long does a seller have to ship an item after its paid for?

I purchased an item from a seller two days ago and it is showing unshipped.  I messaged the seller and received no answer.

My question is how much time do they have to ship an item after its paid?  Or do you have to wait until the "haven't received it yet" time.

Today is Tuesday and two days ago was Sunday.

There is no postal service on Sundays.

So there's that.

And not every seller tracks all packages, which is a Seller Protection in any case.

And sellers who don't use Paypal have to mark their shipments manually, which sometimes gets overlooked.

Your item will probably arrive in less than two weeks from payment.

I am not sure if handling time is the same across all ebay sites and/or if it depends on the listing tools a Seller can use ... but for myself I can only add 3 business days handling time to my listings using the basic listing form. In order to open an Item Not Received claim with ebay you will have to wait until after the last estimated delivery date showing on the item you purchased - and you have 30 days after that date to open a claim through ebay. PayPal , if you paid that way, allows a Buyer to open an Item Not Received claim almost immediately after a purchase has been made (they ask that you wait a couple of days) and you have up to 180 days from your payment date to file a claim through PayPal for an Item Not Received.
