How long does it take to get a refund after returning an item?

I returned an item on Jan 24/13 and I haven't gotten the money back yet and the seller already re-listed the item, even though one component wasn't working. Also the seller isn't returning my messages what can I do.

Go to purchase history and click on "resolve a problem" in the drop down menu beside the item you returned.  You will have to open a dispute with eBay and Paypal if that's how you paid. Always keep post office proof you shipped it back. Complaint must be filed within 45 days of purchase. If you sent it back and he is not replying the Paypal will judge in your favour and automatically reverse the Paypal charges. So start a dispute, and the within a couple days, if seller does not respond or refund your money, you must ESCALATE your dispute to a CLAIM with Paypal. If 10 days pass after opening a dispute and you do not escalate it to a claim within that time, the case will be closed and seller will keep your money and the product. Some shady sellers count on buyers who are new and do not know how to make a claim against a dishonest seller. So take action asap! Good luck 🙂

Ireally hope that when you returned the item that you used a service that includes Proof of Delivery.

If not you cannot prove to Paypal that the item was in fact returned. And your refund in in the hands of the seller alone.

OTOH, if you backed your PP payment with a credit card , you have the option of going to the cc Customer Service for a chargeback. Mind you, they may also want to see Confirmation of Delivery to the seller.
