Mailed an item today Small Packet Air, 989kg for the usual 10.10 with insurance no longer available.
Anyone else ?
I thought the changes did not take place til the 14th.

Everything deposited at the post office today and tomorrow is date stamped as of Monday January 14th.,
It is always like that every weekend.

Just checked my receipt Pierre, it is date stamped the 12th.
Is this because my RPO has pick-ups on Saturday & Sunday ?

I think the US Air price is still the same as always, 10.10, but insurance was no longer available on the touch screen.

I sent something today Small Packet Air to the US and insurance still showed.

You mailed a 989kg parcel for $10.10 ? Seems like you got a bargain there!
😉

$10.10 is the 2012 price for 251-500 grams for SP Air USA. $15.67 is the price for SP Air USA 501 grams - 1 kg.
Now if it was 989 kg, as mentioned, you got a real bargain.

BB had better get his parcel weight straight.
2012 Canada Post rates and features remain in effect today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday). Presumably 2013 rates take effect at 0001 hrs Monday morning.

I sent an expedited parcel to the USA today and it was stamped the 12th.
They also put about $9.00 worth of stamps on it to use up their old stock before the price increase next week.

Halftime means checking my post.
Typo on my part, should be .289kg & charged 10.10. That sounds right.
I figure should the package go missing, minimal chance of that, the receipt is date stamped for the 12th. That still assures me coverage.

I mailed stuff today at the postal outlet (Shoppers Drug Mart franchise) and the Canada Post cancellation stamp was dated January 14th.
It has been like that every weekend for as long as I can remember.

Yesterday, I used the Canada Post website to find a quote, and they gave me Small Packet Air. The insurance (coverage) line read "Not applicable" even if you were January 11. And Light Packet was not an option anymore ?:| 😞

Mailed at Pharma Plus Pierre, & stamped the 12th. Double checked the receipt.
Have never experienced a cancellation stamp for the monday after the weekend.

I mailed a few items (3 of them small packets to the USA) yesterday at 17:13 - right when the mailman was about the do pick ups. He took my parcels with him. =D According to tracking status, the expedited parcel already left Canada last night.
They are all dated Jan 11 2013 so I think I'm good (in terms of insurance).

Lady Stark's post (#12) intrigued me so I checked the Canada Post rate calculator this morning (Jan 13, 0730 hrs EST) for rates on a nominal Small Packet and a Light Packet to USA and International. The rates quoted were all 2012 rates. However, Small Packet Surface to USA was not offered as an option. Neither was Light Packet to either USA or International.
As SP Surface USA service is not being withdrawn until Feb 11 and Light Packet service is continuing, obviously somebody at Canada Post has screwed up royally - not for the first time.
We'll have to sort this out tomorrow.

The information that we obtained from Canada Post referred specifically tor "businesses" and was found on the Venturone part of the website.
For the general population Small Packet surface USA appears to be gone... while for businesses it should still be available for 28 more days.... Ventureone card required ??? perhaps... maybe...
There is no small packet surface USA on the website.....
Could be very interesting Monday morning... January 14.

Mailed again today, Small Packet Air was still 10.10 with no insurance available.
Good thing the Small Packet forms are date stamped.
