I need a real address in the US close to NY or VT state border.

Hi Elaine,

Check out some of the border brokers to see if they will offer this service for you. If it is a one shot deal then may be hesitant. If you plan on doing it on a regular basis then it might be worth their while.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Mailboxed Etc will accepy deliveries for you at their counter if you rent a mailbox from them - the are also affiliated with UPS so courier deliveries should be no problem.

I have an account at UPS store in Ogdensburg. It is a street address with a PMB with it. I get all my parcels shipped there, using any service. Costs $35.00 US month for unlimited parcels. I go down once per month to pick them up and they are happy with that.

There's a company in WA (I know this doesn't help you) called "Ship Happens". For $3 they accept ANYTHING for you and hold it for you. You just use their address (looks like a house address) with your name on the top. Perfectly legal. Maybe there's companies like that on your side of the continent, too.

Well, you're on the east side of North America (a continent) and I'm on the west side. In fact, you could hardly get any east-er, and I can't go ANY west-er. So, yeah, we're on opposite sides of North America. 🙂

Oh, I think Glenda already knows that I live in Vancouver (my auctions say so) and she was being sarcastic by pointing out that I COULD in fact be further west than I am. But we both forgot about Hawaii 🙂

Moi? Sarcastic?? Never!! And I never forget about Hawaii -- I keep telling people that Victoria is the Hawaii of Canada, but I did assume you meant as far west in Canada. I don't somehow thing there are many Hawaiian PSs visiting this board. And we both know that most easterners seem to think that Canada ends at Winnipeg!

Anyhow, we lived in Coquitlam for 22 years (actually just up the hill from Maillardville) and packing up to move was sheer hell, but in retrospect it was worth it! Victoria is cooler in the hot weather, warmer in the cold weather, less rain in the rainy season, and always less traffic than greater Vancouver. Like, our rush hour is not an hour (although if one lives near the Pat Bay Hiway they have to adjust their schedule so they're not fighting ferry traffic).

Try Freeport Forwarding in Champlain NY - the place is a bit run down - but the prices are reasonable - 3$ for a small package up to 10$ for a skid

I have used them for imports and there is always a line in the evening

Just FYI, the US Post office will accept your UPS and Fedex parcels.  There's a form to fill out, but no problems after that.

If you need a real address, you can use the address of the post office.

They've been doing this since Feb, 2013

A small business opened in Pembina North Dakota.... and about 90 miles south of Winnipeg...

Started in a garage attached to a house...  Many Winnipeg buyers  had deliveries made to this address and then picked it up.

Many industrial deliveries

The local newspaper picked up on this option  and the business grew out of that garage

The best thing to do is search for a similar  option just across the border from where you live in Canada.... just across the border

If anyone has traveled the Trans-Canada from Sudbury to Winnipeg.... you will understand why easterners think westerners  are too far away to be important.... Northwestern Ontario is devoid of people

and  for everyone who really wants to know.

Winnipeg is western Canada... except with the CFL...

and those that live in Toronto  think Canada ends 200 miles west of Toronto...
