International site visibility fee now $1.00 !!!

Has anyone noticed that the international site visibility fee is now a whopping $1.00 with the new 35 cent/30 day BIN deal?

OK,

Figured it out. For 30-day listings the fee is $1.00 if the sum of all your multiples of one item exceeds $50.

Yes I did notice the fee. I beleive they were charging me 50 cents since I sell low ticket items. Also the subtitle fee is a whopping $1.50. Regardless of how that works out over the number of days listed, it's still a huge jump for that same item that had a 30% chance of selling in the same week it was listed.

We will have to keep an eye on those fees and decide if they are worthwhile!

For now I'd just like to get my money's worth in listing support tools as Turbo Lister is falling short of it's promise to speed up listings with all the bugs!

Yes- I figured this one out pretty quickly- and virtually dropped ALL our UK exposure.

SUGGESTION- check out how many items appear on the UK site- and act accordingly. If there are few items- and you ship internationally, people will find you. We had little, or no exposure on the UK board, and 20% of our sales were to the UK. It all depends on the items, and how people search for them.

Maybe it makes sense to place a few KEY items on the UK site, and direct people to check out your numerous OTHER listings on OTHER eBay sites?

Is the International Site visibility only for the UK, or does it cover all International sites? If I set up my listings with 'Worldwide' shipping, then doesn't that get me International exposure?

It's only UK at the moment.

If you select Worldwide your listings "can" be found but searchers must select the worldwide box to get your items included in the search results.

On the other hand, if your items are unique and buyers use the right search terms and there are less than 30(?) domestic results then they will show up in the main search results. If there are more than 30 they will show up in a separate section following the domestic results.

Looking at your titles you might benefit from the extra visibility. The best thing to do is to go to the UK site and try searching for your items under the search terms you think buyers would use and see if your items come up. When you do this it's best if you are NOT logged in under your selling id.

Curious? Is this jump for International visibility only on Fixed price items, or is it also included in BIN (Buy-It-Now) items as well that have always existed. I noticed my seller fees jumped considerably so that's why I'm asking...

It applies to any listing format but you have to specifically select the option.

Auction listings are still the same price. The only increase I have seen is in Fixed Price no matter how long a period is selected.

Right now the option to choose UK visibility has disappeared when I try to list in Fixed Price. It shows up for Store listings but not for FP. I contacted Live Help. The very informed rep did not know anything about the new option to choose UK visibility and I had to explain it to him. He consulted a techie and came to the conclusion that something was definitely not right here.

They told me, as a temporary fix, to edit the listing from FP to auction. This would make the option appear, I could select it, and then switch back. That sounded good but as soon as I edited back to FP it disappeared again.

And still nothing has changed.

Hi westernstargifts

May I suggest you redo your listings without any reference to accepting any method of payment other than PayPal.

The try listing again. .

Whether or not you accept cheques/money orders has absolutely no bearing on international visibility.

That is if you are listing on .ca and choosing international visibility.

For our product, we virtually dominate the UK market in searches made on the UK site.

Not only do we accept cheques/money orders, we have actually made a point of having this stand out in out TOS.

Virtually all of our sales are to baby boomers and, often, Paypal in not an entity they embrace.

However, looks as if we will have to change our tenor sometime next year:-(
