Hi everyone,

Just for laugh, tell here your story about the weirdest buyer behavior you did business with so far. Ex. : Most ridiculous reason you've heard to not send payment, most amazing request you've heard, biggest lack of honesty you've seen, etc.

So, who thinks he did business with the weirdest buyer on eBay ? 😄

The most amazing one that I had is the buyer who sent me a cheque after I closed the UID. I told her the item had been relisted and was unavailable. She told me to cash the cheque if the bracelet did not sell for the amount she had bid. She had won at the starting bid, not paid, and then still wanted me to sell it to her at that price. I returned her cheque...and the bracelet sold for more!!

She could have bid on the bracelet for the second time (not really, because I had already blocked her), but she wanted the lowest price.

A buyer bid on 7day auction, won and paid. We sent out shipping notification, and he asked: "Did you ship two? because the picture had two units." I said the description was clearly for one unit and he should asked before, and he said there was not enough time to ask questions. The guy must be pretty slow ...

how about buy it now and no response ever after ?
or bought changed minds then changed again ?
what i hate the most is the one that buys it and after winning asks like 10 questions
or the one who said i didn't know it was silver (when it's clearly stated on auction)

Guy in California bids and wins, almost every day for about 8-9 days.

In the first few days he continually offers compliments, then to buy dinner. The next few times he wants to visit me in Canada and the last thing he asked before I straightened him out was "would you marry me?".

Told me he was an artist out of work... LOL!

I was selling Victoria's Secret pantyhose a while back (new in package..obviously) and got an email from someone who wanted me to wear the pantyhose for a day and then send it to him.

yuck.

I printed out the email and showed it to my friends and everyone had a good laugh.

Funny thing is, nothing in my listings says that I'm female (ok - I am) or my age (31)... so how could he know that I wasn't some 97-year-old man?

speaking of which, does anyone remember a looooooong time ago (maybe 10years ago or so) when things like dirty underwear, socks etc...were being sold on ebay and for good money?? i remember at my job at that time, a friend of mine who was currently selling on ebay (he's the one who introduced me to 'ebay') showed me a whole bunch of listings like -dirty underwear, socks etc...and people (with problems) were buying them up like crazy...obviously, these people had fetishes and the sweatier the socks the better, i remember....obviously, ebay has since removed that category!! but was anyone around during then??

I remember...

It was the used panties from young females that were the "hot" item back then:^O

In essence a relatively harmless fetish but those items don't really belong on eBay because an overwhelming amount of buyers would be offended to come across such and perhaps shun eBay.

Too funny!

A girl who waitressed at the same restaurant I did was offered something like $50 for the socks she was wearing from a customer (which she took... and then he left her a big tip on top of that) so I know people like that exist.

I never emailed the guy back, but I printed it out and had a good laugh with some of my co-workers... since I had gotten enough jokes from them about selling my pantyhose on ebay...

(and then I made a pile of money from the pantyhose that went towards paying off student loans and I bought an expensive purse and then they still laughed about it, but were impressed)

enough of the smelly undies...

here's one just the other day..

several bids on a historic guitar gets pretty high and the nutty bidder wins.. good feedback, everything looked great and then on the 3rd day still nothing after sending him 3 invoices... finally get a reply telling me I have someone hijacking my account and is sending him emails. LOL.. He then emails me with this.. "I keep getting fake emails from someone that has your ID. Please work with ebay to resolve this". OK buddy you get an invoice from something you bid on and your trying to make it look like its a hijacking? I asked several times what was in these emails and the response was "ebay has them. they are coming right to my email and not through ebay. I sent them to SPOOF@EBAY.COM".. OK then I asked to forward the emails.. he replies "they are sending me an eBay invoice"... what?? LOL ,, I just filed yesterday for loser ebayer credit. still have not heard back after filing... aarrrggg don't you enjoy this. 🙂

A newbie buyer won an auction and wanted to mail her payment. Fine. I receive the money order for the cost of the item . . . . and here's the kicker . . . she also included a return envelope, with US stamps, for the shipping amount I had provided in the invoice. Buyer pays for shipping ~ quite literally! Didn't seem to realize that Canada Post wouldn't like that approach too much.

For my part, a guy from United Kingdom bids and wins a lot of 4 ancient Roman coins, with very sharp and detailed pictures of both sides of the coins, and I always write "These are the coins you will receive".

The guy has 8 or 9 feedbacks, one negative from another ancient coins seller saying "Buyer thinks coin is a fake, left negative, then decide he likes the coin", or something.

Not a good start. I ship anyway, my coins are authentic and I ship within 24h, it should be fine. Four days after I shipped, he send email : "You sent different coins than pictured. Why?"

Seriously, I am almost paranoid about making a mistake, my system is perfect, I never mixed orders, I double check, triple check orders before to ship!

Also, four days to UK ? That is fast delivery, for $1.92 Canada Post Light Packet! Hard to believe...

I emailed the guy, asking him to scan the coins and email me the file, to compare with order, and try to find out who's the other buyer about to receive wrong coins too! Of course, I knew it was impossible, I just wanted him to go further in his lie, to see if he was smart, some kind of scam artist...

He left positive feedback a few hours later, a very nice comment about the service.

What do you know...
