Markdown manager, can you en masse mark down items > 16 months not sold?

I've begun experimenting with the markdown manager, something I though I would never do, but having stuff on sale, if only a wee number of items seems to be helping, and some of the on sale stuff has been selling.

What I really would like to do is put everything "old" on sale - ie everything that is telling me: "This listing hasn't had any sales in the last 16 months. Please consider revising it."

I got some "ebay suggestions" a while ago for a couple of these lots that led me down the path of changing the price. I would rather put them on sale, and if there's an easy way, I'd just do that from time to time with all the "old" stuff.

I don't think current markdown manager functionality lets me do that, but based on how many things I learn from these boards, and my relative inexperience using it, it is very possible I have overlooked something....

I don't know of a way to do that.

But if you go into the markdown manager and sort your listings by newly listed, the ones at the end will be the oldest (assuming you are using GTC)  and you could check them off that way. I know that isn't doing in en masse but its just a suggestion.

I know that at one time using markdown manager seemed to make my listings more visible but I'm not sure if that is still the case. If ebay is warning you that those items should be revised, they are probably not being shown that much in search. I wonder if marking them down would help in that aspect.

Hi PJ!

Thankyou for the information, yes I'm a GTC kinda guy!

Wow this is embarassing, I'm a 15 year eBay veteran that didn't even know how newly listed worked! (I assumed it listed the items in terms of their current 30 day cycle, not based on their original start date).

This works perfectly, I went to markdown manager and if I go to the end of my list, all my "old time" lots are there and I can pick and choose the ones to put on sale!

To everyone else, this is exactly why these boards are such a good place, this little wee bit of simple information saved me a ton of searching time if I had tried to figure this out on my own because I never would have questioned my misunderstanding of how newly listed worked....

Regarding markdown's value, time will tell, I've only recently started using them so I'll see what happens. Traditionally I have shied away from using "on sale" because I feel it provides a sense to buyers that the original prices were inflated as well as encouragement for them to wait on a purchase to see if it comes on sale later on. However if the great eBay algorithm boosts visibility of all my stuff if I have some on sale, then so be it, I'll become a "sale guy"......
