New ebay "rewards" for seller

Other crap from ebay regarding the New ebay "rewards" for seller. Because of the high shipping cost of Canadapost, I believe only those "Sell to Canada only" seller can get the 20% off FVF rewards.

I just went and checked our eBay invoice.
20% for us is no big deal.
Over the past thirty days, our FINAL VALUE FEES WERE C$69.95 TOTAL !
With a 5% discount that a $3.50 saving
with a 15% discount that's a$10.50 saving
with a 20% discount that's a $14.00 saving

For the extra $3.50 to $14.00 in savings- we will simply RAISE our shipping rate!!
And, even at less than $1.oo increase in shipping per item, in additional costs, that will yield over $100 in additional revenue- WITHOUT chasing a HIGHER DSR!

So afew simple adjustments, et voila- about SEVEN TIMES MORE MONEY than the MAXIMUM eBay discount- and none of the eBay DSR nonsense!

NO MORE FREE SHIPPING + and HIGHER S/H fees = MORE PROFIT / LESS HASSLE

All you dvd guys are going to be paying more for shipping Canada Post light packet in January 2009. Wish CP would update their online shipping calculator to reflect the current fees. *sigh*

OK, finally got down to actually doing this.

However, I scaled back my report as I have serious issues with some of the "stuff" that I discovered.

However, there are still some tips in there that should help out some sellers.

If you have not received an email with an attachment, please check your spam folder.

If also not there, I have either not received an email from you, or your address was blocked (yeah, there were 5 or 6 of you who did that and did not put their email address into the body of the mail either!) or I received a wrong email address.

Anyway, time to fire up the cruisers, head out of town and forget eBay for a couple of days LOL

On Monday I got a call from some head-honcho in Ottawa and it was not a pleasant conversation, thanks to the moron or twit that reported me.

No idea where they got our phone # but I guess there are tie-ins that we are not aware of.

I did not have a good feeling going into this and should have followed my instinct that said "what have I gotten myself into?"

I was basically threatened with cancellation of our Venture one and PP shipping privileges. Guess they were not too happy that I was able to crack their system but, more importantly, they did not find it very amusing that I offered to publish that info.

In retrospect, I have to agree with them. It's a bit like the guy who first cracked the DVD encoding and published it on the 'net. Mind you, he now has a thriving software security company LOL!

Sorry again but I am bowing out of this thing - it was not a good idea in the first place and I should have kept my mouth shut - especially in view of this being Xena's account.

More than 90% of my eBay sales are exported.

eBay gave me a nice 20% rebate on my FVF for June, worth in excess of US$100. 🙂

There is nothing wrong with the new rebate. Either you get it or you do not. Nothing to lose. .

Ok I've searched the board & no info on the 20% discount.
I'm entitled to it for Nov invoice, but nothing on the invoice stating 20% discount. I did a number check & the FVF are the same as usual..Do they bank this up or what?

With regards to the shipping loop holes in CP.. I know lots of people who print labels through PP and put in smaller dimentions or less weight to get a cheaper price..most PO just scan the package and off it goes. Not a good practice to get into, but people do it.

The PP shipping tool is a great way to save money..+ on smaller items you don't have to wait in line ups at the PO..time is money & PP shipping certainly helps.

I hope Pierre or someone can help me with the FVF discount concern..

If you on 15th of the month billing the discount will be on your invoice or check your account activity for the 15th.

Actually, you should check your account activity from Dec 14 to Dec 16

The rebate (if you are eligible and your billing date is the 15th) appears on Dec 15 at 00:00. .

Checked invoices. Nothing comes up under credits or discounts. Seller Dash Board says 20% but don't see amounts saved on invoice or any evidence of the 20% discount. Does ebay just knock the 20% off and then send the amount oweing? or is it applied on the end of invoice as Credit etc..???

I should also add that I've checked my invoice and the FVF charged on sold items doesn't include discount.

Make sure that you are really looking at your latest invoice.

Go to the last page (that was page # 69 for me LOL) and it should be in the block before your subscription fees and would look like this:

30-Nov 00:00:00 PowerSeller Discount: You Saved 20% on Final Value Fee This Billing Cycle -$257.29
30-Nov 00:00:00 You received double your Final Value Fee discount on items sold with free shipping -$23.60
