Not for profit selling donated artwork

We are a not for profit agency that has been gifted a painting from a well known artist .It was donated to raise funds for our organization through on-line bids. How would we set up an account to do this? Or can we do it?

Gives you the overview.

Some things to keep in mind.

New sellers have their customers' payments Held against their good performance for 21 days after cleared payment.

Know how you will ship and how much it will cost before listing.

More than half of eBay buyers shop at least in part on a mobile device. So write your listing on a desktop or laptop, but review it on a mobile.

Must you use an online service?

You might do equally well -- perhaps better with a traditional auction house.

If the artist is sufficiently well known, even one of the big names like Sotheby's might be interested. They have clients with deep pockets.

Many auction houses now have live online bidding, which would fulfill the donor's requirement.

You will pay fees to an auction house. But you also pay fees to eBay, to Paypal, and have that pesky 21 day Hold.
