Here's the original announcement:

***Original: Title and Description Search Issues***

October 14, 2008 | 02:33PM PST/PT

Title and Description Search is not displaying all items correctly. Please be assured that we are working aggressively to resolve the issue, and expect it to be fixed by the end of next week. We know how frustrating this is, and sincerely apologize that the fix will take so long, but the reindexing necessary to complete the fix literally takes several days to run.

If you are a seller and your item is not displaying in a Title and Description Search, please don't hesitate to contact Customer Support, and they will be happy to refund your fees upon validation that your item is impacted by this bug.

If you are a buyer, these items are always available by using Title-only Search (simply uncheck the Include title and description box when running a search). Additionally, if you have Favorite Searches set up, you may want to temporarily modify them to search by Title only.

Here's the UPDATED announcement:

October 15, 2008 | 06:00PM PST/PT

The problems with Title and Description search have now been corrected.

ODD.....That SEARCH IS STILL NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. I have 1283 listings and as some of my buyers have reported...they can't find a thing in search in the categories that I list in. They can only find me by going directly to my eBay store because they have the direct url.

As I mentioned...I AM/WAS on the phone with Customer Support. They said....SORRY....NO REFUNDS....because buyers can go to shop.ebay.comshop.ebay.com and they'll be able to find everything.

I have to wonder if buyers around the world know about that url. I've been on eBay for 8 years and that was a first for me.

Oh, dear.....

I just received an e-mail from eBay Australia Customer Support letting me know that shop.ebay.com or .ca or .whatever all are defaults and this is what is displayed in the url.

Odd that when I type in www.eBay.com to go to .com....that's all that I see.

But, what really doesn't make any sense about the e-mail that I received is that it is from Melvin, a Senior Customer Support Representative of the eBay Canada team...but it comes from eBay Australia Customer Support at aucswebhelp@ebay.com

Now THAT'S WHAT I CALL OUTSOURCING!
