I was just reading the Canada Post website and came across this:
Domestic Lettermail Price Change
The basic letter rate for Standard (S/L) items up to 30 g increased to $0.54 effective January 12, 2009, reflecting a two-cent increase for 2009 only. Changes to specifications and associated prices for Irregular Oversize Lettermail were not introduced. Some Lettermail prices differ from what was included in customer communications in July. Refer to revised Lettermail Price Sheet for details.
DOES THIS MEAN that we don't have to worry about BENDABLE vs. NON-BENDABLE at this time?
I am asking because while in Ottawa I took the time to ask several postal employees and no one knew how it was going to be done. I also asked here at home...two different post offices and same answer, "We don't know."

In June 2008, Canada Post announced that it was planning to make changes to the Oversize Lettermail specifications, and to introduce an Irregular Oversize category. Please note Canada Post will not be implementing the Irregular Oversize Lettermail specifications and rates on January 12, 2009.

Thanks for posting the information from the new postal brochure. I've not been able to get one yet as our local postoffice hasn't received them!
