Paying with Pay Pal and credit card

If I don't have enough money to pay in my Pay Pal account and I pay part of the item using Pay Pal and  the balance with credit card.

Does Pay Pal still compensate the total price of the item as in the Buyer Protection agreement ?

Just pay with paypal.

If your credit card is associated with your paypal account they will use your paypal balance first then charge the rest to your credit card and YES you are protected for the whole amount.

What about eCheck or Instant Transfer ? Do they charge extra for that ?
