Seller provided incorrect address... now what?

Hi everyone, after a long period without my powerseller status (courtesy of ebay!), I'm happy to be back up & running again! Well, it didn't take long until I've ran into the following situation & would love your advice:

Buyer purchased an item but provided me an incorrect mailing address in the USA (missing his PO Box #) & I received the package back from USPS as undeliverable (there was no street delivery available at the address he provided). He is blaming me for not knowing that prior to sending (like I have a crystal ball or something)... I have offered to reship it at half the original shipping cost (on which I will now take a loss as I don't inflate my shipping prices at all), but he is not being cooperative & is now insisting I ship it for free (even though I did send it to his address on file). I felt my offer to ship it back at half the cost was reasonable, but now I of course am concerned about negative feedback (positive has already been left for him when he made payment)... I'm thinking now (for the sake of feedback & the now all important DSR score), maybe I should just take the loss on the shipping, ship it back to him for free & move on... I think I know the answer (unfortunately) tho this, but any thoughts out there?

that is his fault entirely...offer to ship again at his cost...or refund his cash minus what it cost you for shipping....

are we sure that this is his fault? i don't mean to say its your fault, but does he know he forgot to include it? if he doesn't know, and thinks YOU forgot, that could be real bad news for you. i had a similar case recently, i had the correct address but for some reason, the post returned it return to sender, forget the reason. i emailed the buyer and asked if he could split the shipping with me. after a while, i thought to myself...he's already paid for shipping, why should he have to pay again? its not his fault the stupid postal system returned it (not mine either, but its my job to get it to him)...i kept thinking what if i were the buyer, why should i have to pay again? so i emailed him back and told him i'd cover the shipping and send it out right away...

...its your choice of course, and yes, it probably is his fault, but it all boils down to your score over the shipping charge and whether or not its worth it to you...

ps...i have yet to get a positive from him (rolling eyes)

Send the buyer the PayPal payment notice with the incomplete address, let them know they can pay for re-shipping or you will refund the purchase price less postage and perhaps something for your eBay/PayPal fees.

If the address provided by PayPal was incorrect then tell them to take their complaint to PayPal.
