Seller subjected to fraud - what is there to do?

Few days ago i was a victim of a fraud payment by a seller through paypal. The seller bought a lot of video games from me by using the buy it now option and paid right away with paypal. The next morning I sent the package and that same day in the afternoon i received an email from paypal saying that this payment is under investigation and until the investigation is over the funds will be frozen. That buyer bought 3 or 4 items from ebay and finally has been suspended by ebay. Since this is my first fraudulent payment received, I was caught off guard. So I was wondering if anyone has any idea out there as to what i can do now? And what are my chances of getting my money (full or partial) back ($214), if any. Any comments will be appreciated.

If it is that buyer with a 3 feedback and an exclamation in the user id, then I hope it was shipped to Canada.

With certain types of sales, such as electronics, you have to be careful. On those types of sales, I insist on confirmed addresses, feedback, etc etc.

I checked sales, and looks like the bidder went on a shopping spree. Looks like an account takeover.

You may want to contact the post office and see if the package can be stopped due to fraud.

Hard to say without more details, but you may not see a penny.

You wouldn't get you money back. Sorry, to say that. I've lost products worth $500 with similar transaction and get nothing. Even i filed a case at local police. The bad news is "PAYPAL WOULDN'T PROTECT CANADIAN SELLERS TO CANADIAN BUYERS, AND POLICE CAN DO NOTHING AS PAYPAL IS NOT IN CANADIAN COMPANY" !!!!

This is a common misconception. Paypal actually offers more protection I think than a traditional merchant account. If you do not have a signature on the actual visa slip on a transaction through a direct merchant account with a bank, Visa/Mc will do a chargeback without a blink upon receiving a call from the buyer. With Paypal at least there are certain things you can do to cover yourself.

In case of a fraud, paypal will confirm the transaction and then after few days they will do chargeback. If I am a seller and using Credit Card, I will make sure its valid and I can take the responsibility, however when a third party like paypal do this job for me and charge me a lot of fees and when fraud happen they say "the card was stolen and we passed the chargeback to you"! they should put more measures and also they should share the loss.
