Selling a used laptop to the U.S. from Canada

I'm thinking of selling my used laptop and don't want to restrict myself just to Canadian buyers.  What are the things I need to consider to ship a used laptop to a U.S. buyer from Canada?

You won't get your customer's cleared payment for 21 days, but you will be required to ship within 7 days of clearance.

This isn't personal, it's a Buyer Protection policy applied by Paypal and eBay against new and occasional sellers.

In the past, scammers have taken the buyer's money and disappeared. This policy prevents that.

Packaging and shipping cost. It will be heavy enough that it has to go Expedited. That comes with insurance and tracking, so, yer covered that way.

If you live in a large enough urban area, try local venues first.

When doing a listing select the countries you do not want to ship to, that leaves what you want. Then, input shipping costs for the US and Canada. That will cause the listing to be seen in both Canada and the US.

Oh.  So is it better just to sell within Canada then?

92% of my sales are to the US, 5% world, 2% Canada. You do the math.

The remaining 1% is interplanetary.

Is your used laptop a rather high end / powerful one that's worth the effort & money to resell?
