Shipping yu gi oh cards in Canada?

Hello! I really want to get into using the eBay shipping option thing but I'm not really sure how to. I've tried twice now but still couldn't figure it out. Could someone tell me the exact things to fill in? (for shipping single yu gi oh cards). Also, I ship my item when it the balance appears as pending ,correct? Thanks

Shipping yu gi oh cards in Canada?

I ship my item when it the balance appears as pending ,correct?
NO NO NO

Pending means the buyer used his bank balance. In effect an e-cheque.

Do not ship until Paypal says the payment has cleared, which can take up to 10 days since it has to clear both the US and the Canadian banking systems.

When it is safe to ship*, PP will allow you to print a shipping label. Don't ship until that option is open to you.

BUT

Single cards?

Hmm- I sell stamps, vintage SF paperbacks, dress patterns and other light flat items that can be sent LetterRate and have no worries about shipping without tracking. My demographic is older persons who like following directions and organizing things.

Now, I have many friends who are gamers, even organizing gaming conventions, and they are lovely people, but the demographic has a lot of ...... let's say, entitled db-gs*cough* gamergate*cough*... to be as polite as possible..... who might regard the arrival of an untracked gaming card as a lovely gift and demand a refund for non-delivery.

And if you can't prove delivery, you refund. No money, no card, and you're down the price of the stamp.

For the shipping options:

You can use Flat Rate or Calculated Shipping- it's a dropdown menu.

If you use Flat Rate you choose the service from the next dropdown and fill in the appropriate amount.

https://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/far/business/findARate?execution=e1s1

Then you go to International Shipping.

Choose Custom Destination.

Choose USA.

Fill in the appropriate service (dropdown) and amount.

If you use Calculated, you won't have LetterPost as an option.

Instead of the amount you just fill in the service.

Further down you fill in the dimensions and weight of your parcel.

IN METRIC. Canada Post went metric in 1974. Everything else is guesswork.

The system will tell your customer the cost of shipping to his doorstep.

LetterPost is not trackable.

Tracked shipping is very expensive.

You may only want to use it on $50 and up items.

I'm too tired to talk about the advantages of Free Shipping. There are lots of posts about it. Research is fun!!

 * You don't have to use PP shipping labels. I mention this because it is a useful hack for knowing when you are  good to ship.
