I'm having an issue with the jeans and pants I sell on E-bay. Normally, I will put the Actual measurements in the title as the tag measurements never match. I want to be as accurate in my listings as possible to avoid disappointing any customers. But when I search other listings I seem to see a lot of sellers that state the tag size then the actual measurements down in the description. I feel that if I follow what others are doing, I will be misrepresenting the item I have and opening myself up to a lot of returns and negative feedbacks.
Just wondering if I could get any advice from some experienced sellers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to sell clothes and I would show the tag size and also all the measurements, bust length, hip, waist, length. I hate the way clothes are right now. I can fit in some 16's, 18's 18W, 20, petite. I told buyers to measure their favorite garment that fit and compare it with the stated measurements. The measurements are more important than the tag size, the more the better, it prevents returns based on fit.

I do not sell clothes, but your listings are confusing. You state one size in the title and a different size in the description.Use the tag size and then put the measurements in the description.
I buy Levis jeans, only. I know that their 32x30 fits me the way I want. I do not need the actual measurements as they are meaning less to me.
Shirts. Every small is different, every medium is different. Different countries make the same size, in different sizes.

I have to admit it myself. It is definitely confusing. But for me personally, I would rather have the actual measurements rather than the tag size when I'm considering buying jeans I cant physically touch and inspect. But I understand that every brand is different and people tend to know the brands they buy. Thanks for your answer and I will try to put the tag measurements in title and have more "accurate" measurements in the description.

Most women know that the manufacturer's size means little, but if they are familiar with the brand, they may already know what 'size' fits them.
This is more true in higher priced garments where the company actually does demand that their sub-contractors make the product to fit their template.
But those template will vary from brand to brand. (And in low end lines, may not actually exist.)
So I like to see the brand sizing in the title.
BUT
Having the actual measurements in the description is necessary.
And again, even more necessary if your are selling Old Navy or George than if you are selling Eileen Fisher or Prada.
The worst of both worlds for the seller is a statement like " Marked Size 14 but fits like an 10."
Even having exact measurements won't help you with that one.
