Credit cards companies and lenders invented "credit history". It records any lending problems with the person.

There is a need for world-wide "online behaviour history". It should allow any online retailer to query and record strikes against any individual.

As I hate to admit it, but eBay FB ceased this function when they made it buyer only.
I am not sure if seller can record a Follow-UP "Customer has filed INR". It's not a negative positive, just stating the fact.

This is tried on a regular basis - never works.

The problem is that it quickly becomes contaminated with 1 seller saying that he doesn't like this person, sometimes for no reason at all, or some sellers figuring that, if they blackball all customers and then ignore the results of the site, customers will be forced to buy from them.

Stuff is never updated properly, the issue of a bad buyer for you my not be a bad buyer for me arises, stuff like that.

I think if our feedback and DSR's are public knowledge, then the buyers should have the same treatment.
Maybe there should be a follow-up feedback left by eBay on all transactions that result in refunds.
Similar to the "feedback was revised". Maybe a note from eBay..."INR filed" or "refund issued by seller".
If buyers knew this was "on their record" ... maybe a few scammers would be outed!

I actually like this suggestion and it would not be so hard to implement.

We can actually implement this ourselves by using feedback follow-up. It would be nice if it caught on.

Do you really think the scammers care?

I think it would bother the good customers the most and those are the ones we're trying to encourage to stay.

And what if there are good reasons for filing a dispute, like a counterfeit item? bay would have to document every occurrence fully and checking feedback would be like reading a book every time - who's got time for that?

But it should not be done by the buyer or the seller, but by eBay, which can make stupid mistakes in an even-handed manner, just like credit bureaus.

And what if there are good reasons for filing a dispute, like a counterfeit item?

Unless the buyer made a habit of buying counterfeits, there would not be pattern.

The point would be to make patterns obvious. Perhaps a Seller Preference that blocked automatically all bidders who have filed two or more INR disputes against two or more sellers in a month or two months. Or some high percentage of disputes compared to purchases.

Of course, some of these scammers can't help gloating, so toolhaus.org is a good tool, especially the Feedback Left For Others.
