US sellers being promted to open case when trying to contact me ..WHAT

So due to new rules 3 us buyers have tried to ask me questions but have been promted to open case and have done so accidently and are now saying they are sorry ebay promted them to do it when they tried to contact me ..


 


I called ebay they said they can just select other then contact you with opening a case... Obvious they don't know this as they are all saying sorry ebay forced me to open a case ..


 


Ebay Rep says I should ship with tracking .. so I asked them how long would it take before i got kciked off ebay for DSR ratings when charging US sellers $16 for shipping on a dvd ... the rep was lost ...


 


Then i ask so you want me to charge my sellers way more or lose out on all US sales because your system is confusing flaud and stupid...


 


The rep say you can explain to your buyer how it works .. I said after the case is open does it really matter and then I asked is that not your job to make sure people understand what the ebay system is all about ..


 


The rep then fr the 10th time said your seller performance will not be affected so do not worry ..


 


I said I started a business for money not for ratings i don't care about ratings i care about my money and now unless i pay $15 to ship an item I lose my money or the buyer will now have to pay to return and I will get negs for that of course...


 


What is ebay thinking  ...morons ..

Hi - You might want to look at the questions and comments about this at the recent Wed. board discussion with the "Pinks". 


 


Not that it will help your particular situation, but American sellers are also very upset over this policy.  Some report getting cases against them even after the 45-day point.  This is a very different, meaner and more stringent eBay.  I have to wonder if they really considered the full impact of the policy before implementing it.


 


Sorry to hear about this.  Obviously those of us who sell to the U.S. frequently will soon be facing the same thing...:-(

Long story short I shippied 2 Us buyers wrong item and are now giving them the items 50% of ship to each other which is awesome both buyers are being very good about it but i mean the buyers honestly just wanted to ask me a question...


 


This is on the US,German and UK site so if you just sell to Canadians this will not happen so I think it is what I am going to do .. 95%-98% of all sales are to Canada anyways..


 


It is a shame that whoever decided to do this has anything to do with ebay they need to wake up ebay needs to fire that guy..

I'd say 95%-98% of my sales are to the US or Europe, so this policy will be a concern for me. :_|

This has been happening to us as well the last two weeks.. I can tell you that some of our customers have even mentioned this in the email that they sent to us. One of whom was only trying to ask about shipping time after they completed purchase. eBay is then accepting their dispute and it definitely goes on your record. Until a week ago, we were doing $1000/day on ebay and since these few claims against us, we are now doing $50-100/day in the last week.

I believe that their ultimate motive here is to force international sellers into using ebay's new fulfillment services. They are such wannabees of another marketplace, its quite laughable at this point.

Are you referring to the Global Shipping Programme?  Yikes!


 


I'd actually be happier thinking eBay was just a bit incompetent and didn't anticipate this issue when it introduced the policy, but I doubt that's the case.  You may very well be right about the wannabee envy.

Not only does asking a question of the seller open a case..it also holds your PP funds for the transaction.Happened to me a couple times already and the buyers were astonished that they opened cases unknowingly...because ebay doesn't tell them that cases are being opened after they hit "submit".The workaround to that is to pick "other" but of course ebay doesn't inform the buyer of that.

And as for GSP..it's around the corner and prob will be mandatory soon..Ebay is already underhandedly opting you in if you agree to their updated User Agreement..Remember..anything..and I mean ANYTHING ebay presents to you..go thru it with a fine toothed comb cause have no scruples when it come to reigning you in to something that makes more profit for them.

Buyers open "cases"........so what! Cases don't mean squat anymore.


 


I hope all those sellers who whined about buyers opening cases without prior communication are happy. eBay has made it so communicating assures that buyers open a case. As a concession they removed cases opened from being a factor in seller performance ratings.


 


Or maybe they did it because of all the buyers complaining that when they communicated with sellers they got nowhere unless they opened a case (at which time these sellers would miraculously come back to life).

Yet,Ebay discourages communication..


 


"You will not receive an automatic 5 star DSR for Communication if there is any buyer or seller initiated communication related to the transaction in the eBay messaging system or a request for contact information by the buyer or seller. Operational emails such as invoices and invoice requests even if they contain messages added by the buyer or seller, and Best Offer communications are excluded from consideration and you will still qualify for an automatic 5 star DSR for Communication if there is no other communication between buyer and seller."

So..Ebay tells me to ignore my buyers inquiries and then buyers get fed up because I am doing what ebay says to do..yep..makes for good buyer/seller relations.
