Why isn't there a feature that can let the buyer/bidder know the total amount of money he or she owes for all bids?

I use a calculator and a piece of paper and a pen when I buy several things to keep track of how much I spend.

Because eBay assumes that members are grownups who can keep track of their own budgets.

Notebook and pencil is pretty good.
