Why there is not mandatory E-Bay rule for sellers to always leave a feedback for the buyers?

Even after leaving positive feedback to some sellers, we don’t get feedbacks from them. Write to them but they don’t even respond. Some say, I don’t care about feedbacks, till the fools exist on this earth, they will buy my items.

Feedback has always been and still is voluntary.

Many sellers, like myself, leave positive feedback upon receipt of payment.  Most buyers will eventually reciprocate after receiving their items. Buyers leaving feedback range from 50% to 85% depending on categories.

Folks come to eBay to buy and sell "stuff", not to accumulate feedback.

Feedback left for buyers is largely irrelevant since only positive feedback can be left and all buyers show 100%.  Feedback for buyers could easily be replaced with a "counter" telling viewers how many purchases were made over a period of time.

That's a great idea and would actually be useful to tell sellers how much help and hand-holding their customers will need, since newbies often need some guidance.

Goes both ways... Last 50 items I've sold... 18 reciprocated with feedback.
