Well i have been bidding on something for a couple days and today as the end time was drawing near i put in a bid with about 20-30 seconds left the bid window showed my bid of $60 and the auction ends and my browser window refreshes only to say i have not won this auction and the winning bidder only bid $58.....how did this happen?

In order for anyone to answer your question, please post the item number of the auction.

I had a similar occurance recently. I entered my maximum bid, saw it on the listing description page and sat back to watch the secounds tick off. I was shocked to see the winning bid was lower than my maximum. I called Ebay and the answer they gave me was my maximum bid was not registered with them. No other recourse.

That happens a lot, and it usually has something to do with bid increments and the exact timing of a bid.
If a bid is put in just before yours is, and your bid is lower than the next bid increment...............
Then your bid will not be recognized by the system.
In other words........... even though your bid may have been higher than the previous bid was it was lower than the next bid increment and the system did not recognize it.

It's also easy to believe that if you had just gone a few $s higher you would have won, but that may not be the case at all.
Regrets like that really make no sense, because..............
Had your bid been over the next increment you may just have pushed the previous bid up and still lost the item.......

I once had a similar incident when I used the "One-Click" bid button. It didn't record my maximum bid, only the next bid increment. But I see you didn't bid prior to this, so I guess the "One-click" button was not available. Really strange... and I'm sorry you lost 😞 But since the other bidder had a high bid too, maybe he would have won anyway.... we'll never know.

"If a bid is put in just before yours is, and your bid is lower than the next bid increment"
I think that is probably what happened.

The thing that bugs me is that it does not even show my bid for $60 like my browser possibly screwed it up or something? who knows. Atleast i now know that im not alone and this has happened to other people.

When bidding for items overseas things can get wonky because sometimes there's a time lag.
Also........ sometimes it looks weird on the bidder's screen when the seller does not accept bids from certain locations or buyers.
I use a third part sniper service ............... and I don't know what it looks like when just bidding via ebay......
But when using a sniper service it can look really off when the seller does not take Canadian bids.

Thing is this item is located in the exact same city as i am currently living in and the shop is located about 3 blocks away i WOULD have purchased the items in store but they HAD to sell them on ebay because someone had already put in a small bid.

Guess thats what can happen when you wait till the last second to bid.
