Anything with a value over $20.00 Canadian is subject to HST or Taxes depending on which province they live in.

It also depends on how the item is shipped.  You have some large items there so they may be shipped By courier,  (UPS,  Fedex etc.)

A $100.00 item shipped by mail would have the following added on

$9.95 handling charge from customs;

HST,  or whatever taxes from the province they live in if that province don't have HST

If shipped by courier there would be at least a $30.00 handling charge plus all the applicibale taxes.

So if a canadian buyer see your item as located in Edmonton and then receive it from the USA they probably won't want to leave you Pos. Feedback and may just refuse to accept the order.

.It is also against ebay policy to falsy list where the item is located.

Item Location Misrepresentation Policy

Sellers must accurately represent the location from which their item will be shipped in the item location field. False, inaccurate or misleading information about the shipping location of an item is not allowed on eBay.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions including:

  • Listing cancellation

  • Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings

  • Limits on account privileges

  • Loss of PowerSeller status

  • Account suspension

You are contravening your eBay Agreement.

Your location is less important than your supplier's location. This is yet another problem with dropshipping.

It is best to have the item in hand and to inspect it before listing.

However, since your supplier is in the USA, and so are most of your potential customers, there should be few problems.

Do NOT attempt to charge taxes unless you are registered to REMIT taxes. Revenue Canada (and their Alberta equivalents) get snarky about that.

Put the location of the item in the appropriate box on your Sell Your Item form. List on eBaydot COM not dotCA, since shipping will be by USPS. This will solve most of your problems.

Sell what you know: know what you sell. This will solve the rest of your problems.

8 out of 9 of the listings ship to Canada Only.

It is indicated in the listings that the items will be shipped by UPS standard

not USPS.
