bought from . NOT SATISFIED. seller located in China, wants me to send it back.

I bought a hoodie from .  I am NOT SATISFIED with it.  The seller is located in China, and thus far hasn't offered to reimburse me, but wants me to send the hoodie back to China.  The postage is going to cost more than $50. and that is without tracking.  With tracking it will be over $100.  I am located in Canada.  I have told the seller that I will gladly send the hoodie back, if they pay me the postage before I mail the item.  The item cost $11. plus cents.  The shipping was almost $6.  I am quoting costs in Canadian dollars.  I have emphasized that I am not rich, and that I am a disabled senior.  I have wrapped the parcel for mailing, and am now on the way to the post office with my camera, to get a proper postage price quote.  I know that if I do not get the postage for this parcel, before I send it, that I will not be sending it.  Where would I proceed with this case if that happens?, which I anticipate.

Hello 'godbutgood',

<<I bought a hoodie . . . I am NOT SATISFIED with it.>>

According to ebay policy, when you are not satisfied with your item it is your responsibility to pay return postage -- with tracking.  Yes, when buying from China that is outrageously expensive, so it's enough to make you wish you bought closer to home.  When buying from China it is a good idea to never spend more than you would be willing to throw away.

Here is ebay's policy about retuning an item:

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/buy/return-item.html#process

You say that "The item cost $11. plus cents.  The shipping was almost $6. . . . in Canadian dollars."

I can understand that you don't like an item when you receive it, but that is not the seller's responsibility.  He did everything he is supposed to and there is no policy on ebay that offers "free trial" items where if you don't like it you will be refunded and get to keep it free.  I've only ever seen that kind of advertising on late night tv.

If you know the packed weight of the item you can find the international costs here:

https://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/far/business/findARate?execution=e1s1

The seller is obviously not going to be sending you the shipping fee so you must decide if you want to spend that much to get back $17 Canadian.  I think I know the answer already.

<<Where would I proceed with this case if that happens?>>

There are a number of things you can do:

You can proceed to set up a listing of the item and resell it on ebay to recoup your loss.

You can proceed to offer the shirt to someone you know, a neighbour, grandchild or nephew perhaps.

You can proceed to your local goodwill and donate it to a charity shop.

But when you simply don't like an item there is nowhere to go with it  because you have no case.  You must return it at your own expense or find an alternate use for it.
