Seems to be a whole new breed of stupid out there people that can't seem to read the listing and make a decision if they want it or not and then ask questions when the answer is in front of them

You'll make alot more money on Ebay with good customer service than you will griping here about having to put in a little effort.
When I sold on here quite often an informative personal response prompted a buyer to bid. Infact some buyers like to see what kind of response (if any) they get from a seller as a method to guage professionalism,
I somtimes do that myself with new sellers or to see if i can swing a deal for multiple purchases when the purchase price is good on alot of items but shipping charges are too high.
I don't like the "will combine shipping" and they knock off 1 dollar per item. I like to know what the discount will be before I spend a dime.

Sometimes sellers are left wondering what makes a potential bidder/buyer hit the 'back' button, and move on from their listing..or worse...their listingS period.
And not return.
When I come upon a seller who writes derogatory or disparaging remarks about 'buyers' - being I am a buyer - I simply choose to not purchase from that seller. Or even browse their listings, which is what I frequently do as I read the boards here. ( and frequently buy...)
Sort of my personal 'blocked sellers' list 🙂
Doesn't matter if sellers find that 'wrong' of me, it's your loss, not mine. I am a buyer that reads the listings, and always pays rapidly, and if I really want what you have...I can always find it from another seller that hasn't alienated me.
Not long ago, a seller commented that 'Ontario buyers are the worst.' My first thought was ( and no doubt I wasn't the only one) that they didn't have to worry about having any Ontario buyers from this board darkening their doorsteps..
That probably wasn't their intent, nor the seller's I intent, here. But that might be the result of such inflammatory headings. And it's not in your best interests.

OK, I know there a lot of seller who think as you do, but how on earth did you become a TRS?

One picture, two lines of description and they wonder why they are getting questions?

I agree .. I read through out the community boards to get an idea who the sellers are actually and flip through what they sell and by their comments I can sorta get a feel of what type of seller they maybe, it actually is better than going through search engine sometimes.. I can look at their items for sale also.. Do not misunderstand I do see the frustrations of the seller.. That is why there is message a seller button to ask questions but not all buyers are dumb and all should not be catergorized in one lump or they do not understand how it works yet.. Sometimes you gotta have patience with buyers and you will get rewarded.

I don't know why one seller think Ontario buyers are the worst. I am always happy when the Canadian buyers buy my items, that way I can ship them by Expedited or XpressPost (depend on which provinces that are so cheaper for XpressPost) with real tracking number and I don't have to lose sleep over them while I do fret over packages to USA if not ship by Expedited or XpressPost, more fretting over International as they don't include real tracking numbers.
Although many of us knew that to ship anything across Canada is way more expensive than to ship to USA, but I always welcome the Canadian buyers. Now with Canada Post removing the Surface Small Packets and will add Tracked Packet, I will have to wait and see. I had to withdraw so many of my listings like over 1,000 as I don't want to relist or list them only to have to revise them which I don't have time.
Why can't Canada Post include Tracked Packet now not having to wait until next month is beyond me?!!

Are you aware that you are not allowed to use stock photos for used items?

Stock photos can only be used for new items.
When selling used items you have to use a photo of the actual item the buyer is going to receive.
Or do you consider this a stupid question ?
B-)

Testing sellers communication, seeing if there is anyone there. Pinging
Smart actually, if a seller doesnt respond would you purchase?

There have been many discussions about buyers asking questions..... specifically when the answer is, or supposedly is, in the listing.
and ... Then there are those times when some information seems to be missing... or atleast a potential buyer thinks so.
Many years ago I came up with the view.....
There are no dumb questions... Buyers MUST ask questions.
Questions are the reality of selling..... We the sellers are the buyer's eyes...
Many times I have said that the first thing a new seller must do is stand in front of a mirror and ask
Who am I? How do I deal with people? More importantly How do I deal with someone I cannot see face-to-face?
Many sellers get into trouble because they do not know how to react.
We are who we are... and are we willing, if necessary, to change to do the job right.

Within the first two lines of my listings I print "Any questions? Please ask before bidding." As a seller sniffing out paying costumers I love to answer questions truthfully. Dumb questions??? Stupid is as stupid does.

And every time I see this thread I think: Shut the Door and call me Judy. He's a TRS!

When I was retail, customers would say "This is a stupid question" and I would stop them with "No question is stupid when you do not know the answer".
