I am still getting used My Messages. I like that this should help with the spoof emails. I am still getting used to receiving them in 2 places as well, but after checking my email from my isp, I find seeing them in My Messages as a reminder.

Hi eserafini -

The feedback score is an interesting idea. We are looking at providing more information about the sender (specfically for contact eBay member), but had not thought about the feedback score being in the inbox view as you suggest.

I'll definitely take that (and the blocking suggestion) back to the business folks.

In response to #22, and stealing shamelessly from a previous response on the topic of not having a delete button in the sent folder:

"The sent folder is really to provide you, as the end user, a running history of what has been sent. As we [eBay] maintain the duration of the message for you, there is no need for you to delete the messages from that folder.

There's extra value in that IF your account were compromised (hopefully something that won't happen), you can see that someone posted questions from the account and be more proactive about the takeover. Allowing you (or the bad guy) to delete messages from sent would be counter to that notice. Not to mention preventing you from having the detailed history."

Responding to post #25 -

Will Paypal messages be integrated?... I responded to that in post 11. We know it is desired, but it is a fairly ellaborate undertaking. All the right people know the community would like to see it happen.

W.r.t. Surveys. Surveys are not currently sent by eBay (they are sent from third parties on behalf of eBay). Since that is true, they cannot be published to My Messages directly. Ebay is looking into sending these ourself - and putting them in My Messages. We're in the consideration/exploration phase.

Responding to eserafini in post 27 & 28...

eBay policy for My Messages message expiration is 30 days to keep member sent messages (in both the inbox and sent folder). Will the sent box get crowded? -- depends how active you are. 🙂

Member communications do have the ability to be abused by members. I think the Trust and Safety rationale here is to error on the side of caution and to capture all of the member sent messages -- especially the Contact eBay Member emails. Since eBay is paying for the storage and expiring -- the crowing is a bit of our operational issue.

Now, to be fair, it is YOUR sent box. To that end, we do provide you filter and sorting mechanisms to find what you need (and cut through the clutter).
