Confusing at best. I have my Masters Degree in Education...Science and Math and trust me...I DO KNOW HOW TO ADD!
When I add $6.10 plus $0.69 I get a total of $6.79.
However, when eBay calculates stated shipping FOR THE UK on my listing #120314234599 they get $6.69 for two items.
When I multiply 35 items by .69 I get $24.15 and then add the basic shipping of $6.10 for a total of $30.25...eBay gets a total of $26.75....which is $3.50 less than what it is suppose to be. That translates out to being .59 for each extra....not .69 as stated in the shipping box.
The Canadian shipping is fine. The US shipping is fine, but international shipping IS NOT FINE.
I contacted eBay Live Help....and they said they were sorry.
She asked if this was the only listing that it was happening on. I told her no and through spot checking my listings some were working and some weren't.
She said that she was sorry again.
Her suggestion was for me to go in and raise all of the international items by 10 cents and then I would get the results I wanted.
Needless to say my point for making this post is that perhaps you should double check some of your international stated shippings to ensure they are totalling correctly. $$$$ adds up when it's $1.00 here or 2 or 3 or 4 there!
Not sure, I know eBay calculates FVF's to 3 decimal places and then rounds them for display purposes on your invoice.
Maybe they do something similar with shipping calculations?

When eBay calculates the stated shipping to US or to Canada...it calculates exactly. In the box it states that shipping to International destinations is $6.10 and then $.69 for each additional item. I don't think there would be any rounding involved as it is stated.
And, since it's not calculating right...it's shorting ME on shipping to the point that I'm having to pay when someone internationally buys from me.
In my listing, 120314234599, when you manually add $6.10 plus $.69...that adds up to $6.79. It is only charging .59 cents for each additional.
It's frustrating. And, of course on the weekend...no human to talk to..only Live Chat.
Your shipping box on that item states 59 cents for USA and 69 cents for international and I suspect that it is pulling the US charge as, technically, that is also "international" if you are listing on .ca.
Try revising the US charge to something different to see if international then follows suit.
Perhaps it's also in the programming of the 3rd party software you are using.
In the past, mine have always added up correctly except when a buyer chooses items from multiple shipping categories.
Frankly, for the dime(s) involved I would let it go.
Good to hear from you. Actually the dimes add up. When a buyer wants to purchase 50 of an item (different listing) it is shorting me $4.90 and with international that is making it so that I am paying for part of the shipping with Grand Adhesions.
The US one works perfectly. The Canadian one works perfectly. It looks like it is just with my Grand Adhesions at this time. They are tricky to send and with the sale that I'm having....there's no room to spare and give away shipping. If it were only a dime...no biggie...but not when buyers are purchasing major multiples.

I'm not positive but I think 35 items would qualify for Small Packet which is $30.98CND. I went to CP and entered 40 x 40 x 10 and 1 kg and got that cost. The Small Packet Air might work better for you on some of these orders. I'm only guessing though the size and weight. This included signature & delivery confirmation and insurance to $100.00. Your shipping is in US funds so what you have collected will be closer.
When I did 35 of your item I got $26.16. It seems it's only charging $0.59, and looks like it might only be calculating the additional items for what you charge for Canada & US.
You might be able to get away with 50 items as well for the Small Packet Air. You can ship up to 2 KG. and measurements must add up to 90 cm but insurance only cover $100.00.
The buyer is wanting to purchase 50 Grand Adhesions. They would be going to the UK. They weigh 1250 grams not including the packaging...so yes...small packet. Canada Post charges $48.39 for 1001 grams up to 2000 grams. If stated shipping were working correctly with a base price of $6.10 and then .69 for each additional grand adhesion...then the buyer would be paying $39.91 which is already a shortage for me. But when eBay does their kind of arithmetic....the buyer is only having to pay $35.01 which is even more of an ouch.
I need to raise the rates for grand adhesions for international shipping but don't want to mess with the listings until the sale is over.
It's one thing if I DON'T charge the right amount, but it's another thing when eBay is randomly selecting what they are charging for me!
I absolutely agree Susan, they sure need to correct this. I wonder how many others are having problems?
It's too bad they weigh so much, but then again it is a great sale.
Can you alter your shipping or have they already paid?
Or can you let them know there is an issue and it isn't calculating correctly. It makes a big difference, especially that you are selling your Grand Adhesion's at already awesome bargain prices.
With that in mind I might go check out the sale myself. 🙂
But I do need to get to bed. 5 am comes very quickly.

Thankfully, all of my buyers and perspective buyers understand the glitch...meaning the international ones.
And, for all other buyers even though I have stated shipping I review each order and make adjustments as needed unless a buyer only purchases one item....then I leave the basic shipping in force.
If a buyer pays before I have time to check....I refund. One buyer was shocked that I refunded 50 cents, another $1.25. However...it's their money...not mine.
Hope you will stop in! Everything in my store is on sale at wholesale and/or below wholesale prices!
