OMG! AAAARRRRRR!
After many calls to ebay with many solutions offered, the system will not calculate shipping cost for USA/international buyers.
It seems they can and do calculate the rates for expedited parcels that are above 21" x 14 x .5 in size.
I have several large items for sale that show the shipping rates to US buyers which meet these requirements.
ALL my smaller items will not calculate no matter what dimensions or service (tracked, small packet...etc.) selected.
IF they can calculate for expedited they can calculate for other shipping options.
WHY is this so?
I have to provide shipping quotes for every sale I make and today a buyer cancelled a purchase because the system would not calculate shipping rates.
There are many posts about this but no solution just explanations regarding expedited shipping sizes.
HOW DO I SHOW SHIPPING RATES FOR SMALL ITEMS THAT DO NOT FIT IN THE EXPIDITED CATEGORY?
(With out the flat rate option)
What Service will show the rates?
What really burns me is that for 99% of these small items, varying in size, its the same rate when calculated using the Canada post calculator. $17.64! Yet it just won't show USA BUYERS.
EBay, you are losing 10% of my sales that I don't make because of this!
Do you not like 10% of my sales?
Please, Please will you have your best eBay guru fix this problem for me and all my Canadian friends.
Thanks, maraming salamat.

It's been almost 40 years since Canada Post went metric, you get the best results with cm and kg.
Use "Add or remove options" beside Add Shipping Details to set the default choice to metric.
-..-
Make sure you pick the right service for the USA versus International.
All the Canada Post choices for the United States must have USA in the title.
All the choices for the rest of the world include International as part of the title.
Small Packets - USA - Air for the United States only.
Maximum weight to USA is 1kg (19 ounces)
Maximum longest dimension: 60cm (23.6")
Maximum total dimension (L+W+H): 90cm (35.4")
Minimum size: 14 x 9 cm (5.5x3.5")
versus
Small Packets - International - Air for the rest of the world
Maximum weight is 2kg (38 ounces)
Maximum longest dimension: 60cm (23.6")
Maximum total dimension (L+W+H): 90cm (35.4")
Minimum size: 14 x 9 cm (5.5x3.5")
-..-
I use calculated for a number of listings and it works for both small packet and tracked packet.

Great success.
It wasn't calculating because the dimensions were wrong for the service.
Next time I speak with ebay I will have them offer you a job as the head problem solver.
All praise Dennis, the man with knowledge.
Thanks again.

A typo or am I missing something? I ask because I never use pounds ounces but my old early 1970's CEGEP (college in Quebec) days remembers 1 kg is 2.2 lbs and a pound is 16 ounces.
1 kg = 2.2 lbs = 35 oz
2 kg = 4.4 lbs = 70 oz
Must be a typo since I verified with an online calculator so my memory is still good (so far, lol)!

You have the correct numbers.
But not a typo, rather slow brain function in the early hours of the morning, resulting in using the wrong numbers when I manually converted: so 2.2 pounds converted to ounces was warped into 1 kilogram x 16 + 0.2 pounds x 16 (round down) = 19 ounces.
As the old computer saying says: Garbage In Garbage Out (GIGO)

You can also use tracked packet USA or international for smaller items if you want them to have tracking. I believe that the weight and dimension requirements are the same as for small packets.

I believe the extra ounces is due to Canadian high taxes.

I have revised most of my ads successfully.
It's all about having both the right weight and dimensions for the service you select.
thanks again dennis.

It was due to a typo....nothing to do with taxes.
