Uh-huh... he's gonna sue...and I am Marie of Roumania.
Ignore the nitwit. Even a small claims court case would cost $25 to open.
Although you were wrong to bid on the item twice, he was silly not to agree to cancel one purchase. Now he knows why he should have.
You are basically in the right here. His belligerent behaviour made your experience unpleasant especially since the neg could have been prevented by a little calm consideration.
Ignore him.

I see a negative response on a 2 item with positive score. I see no reason to reconsider. I agree with stamps..ignore.

Hello 'juggalojay',
Are you referring to the red neg you left in January or the grey neutral you just left the other day? Or is it some other negative on another ID?
If it's that one from January, it seems a little late for anyone to still be fuming about it. And neutrals don't count against a seller, so that would hardly be worth the bother. No matter, - presumably the seller tried to get it removed by ebay and they declined.
You are quite within your right to expess your sentiments about the transaction in feedback. You do not owe every seller a positive irrespective of how dreadfully they treat you. By forcing you to pay for the second identical item, your seller created a very negative experience indeed. Ebay allows buyers to leave red circle negatives, without which there could be no truth. That's just the way it is. Smart sellers take steps to avoid them. Yours didn't.
Every so often someone shows up here on one side of the fence or other, - either threatened with court action, or intending to litigate. It's always just a lot of noise. Me, I envision a huge 8-year-old having a tantrum over a few crayons. Your seller is simply having an infantile hissy fit. Let him. Like all tantrums, this one will dissipate eventually.

Wow are you serious? Threatening to take you to court over negative feedback, this seller must have an aweful lot of time on their hands. Furthermore, the Court would probably turn on him for taking up the courts time for something so ridiculous. Pay no attention, just don't deal with them again.
