You can, BEFORE BIDDING, ask the seller if she will accept an alternate method of payment.
The most popular with sellers are cash and International Postal Money Orders, which can be cashed immediately at any PO.
Slightly less acceptable are other money orders, which must be processed and cleared like personal cheques by the seller's bank.
The problems with cash are self-evident.
IPMOs cost about $3.50 each last time I bought one. Plus envelope, stamp, and delivery time.
With any MO, there is no way of getting a refund if the seller keeps the money and does not ship.
