why does shipping amount show on shipping label to ebay customer

I have recently sold 2 items on ebay.

The shipping amount shows on the shipping label.

I print my label thru ebay.  Please understand

I login to ebay and I click on print shipping label.   The paypal website comes up.  I login and I enter all the information and click print.

The shipping label prints with the name of the buyer and it prints the amount I PAID for shipping.

The customer actually sees the shipping amount

What do I do?

Can you imagine that this is a tiny detail that could create conflict between me and my buyers?

Can anyone help me? please

If you are going by what you say in your listings

why should there be any conflict.

I try to be fair.  I do NOT include extra fees on shipping my items.

The shipping costs you see, is what Canada Post is charging.

Customer service is very important to me.

I want you to be happy with your purchase.

If you ship from the Post Office or put the stamps

on yourself it also show how much postage was

with the exception of the taxes and gas charge.

The lady emailed asking for the price. In my listing I had stated expedited shipping because that was the cheapest when I put up my listing originally and she still asked for a price.

I went to the canada post website for a quote and tracked package showed cheaper than expedited. Not by a whole much cheaper but still lower.

So she paid the shipping by tracked package. I then went into ebay and printed the label. Canada post charged me 18.57 - 1.75 (special rate) and so my total that I paid was: 16.82

When I went to get the quote, I had no idea what amount I would pay in the end with Canada post.

I gave her the honest quote that canada post showed on their website. I add 2$ up front to the price of my listing to cover costs so that I don't have to add handling to the shipping.

I'd just like to understand why it shows on my shipping label and my friend who lives in toronto canada uses Canada Post expedited shipping and it does not show on her label.

Seems simple, either the amount shows on the label for all Canadian sellers or it does not show on the label for all Canadian sellers. If this is a glitch I would like to know who do I contact? ebay canada or paypal?

Oh I forgot to mention that canada post had quoted 19.00 as the price for tracked packaged and so that's what she paid

If you buy discount postage, which is offered by many seller here on eBay, your buyer will see the value of the postage, but not what you paid for it.

This discount can cover your other costs like packaging, insurance, and taxes.

When did PP stop Stealth Postage? It was one of the things I liked about using PP shipping labels, since postage is only part of the cost of shipping.
