Chinese suppliers playing politics

I order a lot of accessory items from China and recently they have been refusing to honour my purchases. They explain that Canada is not allowing shipments from China which is a total lie. It seems all sellers are playing this political game that their government instituted. Ebay should suspend their accounts immediately.

Hi @portfelt - I want to confirm that this was, in fact, something that eBay China had advised their members to do (provide shipping through couriers other than Canada Post or cancel transactions and put listings on vacation).

The issue at hand has been resolved and eBay China has communicated that with members, so shipping to you should no longer be a problem.

You should be able to leave appropriate feedback if you've paid for these items and they were cancelled. You can also consider looking for the same or similar items from other sellers on the site. Thanks!

Thank you for your quick response. I depend on these suppliers so I can sell my items with all the accessories. Much appreciated.

keep in mind, that Chinese, or overseas shipping is heavily subsidized  , so it will not be a priority when it gets to Canada, it will be stored in a trailer, like so many other parcels are kept,, once the backlog is cleared up then, it will move through the system, as close to normal as can be expected..

Tyler, can you confirm when this message was communicated to eBay China sellers? I have been asked to cancel multiple orders, most recently as June 12th. The reason for order cancellation is the same from all the sellers I have purchased from. They say they are being told that the shippers will not accept orders to Canada.

Chinese... shipping is heavily subsidized

The Western postal systems' "work to order" on subsidized Chinese shipments has pretty much disappeared since the wrangling over this problem at the Universal Postal Union.

China finally caved, and has been raising its postal rates  since the UPU convention in 2016.

In addition, many Chinese sellers have moved to tracked DHL shipping, which is still amazingly cheap, but more in line with world pricing.

@portfelt   Asking your suppliers if they are using DHL shipping might be useful. It will be more expensive than China Post, but better a 25c item you receive than a 10c item that never arrives, eh?

Hi @coach_man_99 - my understanding was that it was early this month. I'll see if I can find more details.

Thanks!

Has there been any news on this. I need parts from a chinese supplier, but the orders are cancelled if I try to buy and sellers say "international post service is still suspended to Canada due to covid-19 virus." when I ask about the issue.

Same here still, eBay China sellers are still listing on eBay Canada but then refusing to ship and canceling orders.  There seems to be some untruth at play here. Why do these sellers continue to offer their products then refuse to ship?
