Hi guys,
I'm very disappointed with seller
I bought this xperia XZ1, as new but open box with one year warranty.
Looked good and new when it arrived, but a few months after that, it screen began to unstick by itself.
I emailed the store and they told me that problem isn't covered by warranty. (it was bad, I already had others sony phones and it never happened before). After that, because this problem, the rear lens got dust, and I can't take a good photo anymore.
So, as the seller asked me, I went at a local store to see what happening and, for my suprise, they told me that this phone was opened before and probably it was refurbished.
I suppose to be a new phone, open box, but not opened and refurbished phone.
Now they just answering my email with shorts answers with no senses.
How can I solve that? I bought this phone on 06/30/19, so I have 5 months warranty, but they dont want solve this. I can't found how report this seller, they lied about product information.

Most product warranties are from the manufacturer not the retailer, and most manufacturers will only honour warranties if the item was purchased from an authorized retailer.
There are authorized retailers selling on eBay, and they usually are very proud of the fact and advertise it.
You have 30 days from delivery of coverage by eBay's Money Back Guarantee. That ran out months ago.
You have 180 days from purchase under Paypal's Buyer Protection program. That ran out at the end of December 2019.
You may be covered by the chargeback policy of the credit card you use to back your Paypal account. Policies vary, so call the 1-800 number and ask. The clerk will need dates, payments, currency, transaction numbers, so be ready with those.
You could also call Trust and Safety and report the seller for offering a warranty which he will not stand behind.
Have in mind what you want from them.
I would suggest that since you expected a one year warranty, but the item broke down within six months that a partial refund of half your payment and a return shipping label would be appropriate.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the eBay "warranty" is 30 days from delivery.
You're too late there too.

the ebay seller offered a year warranty in your ad, but they don't honored it.
the 30 days is about ebay refund.
the 1 year warranty was offer by store.

A warranty is only as good as the entity that offers the warranty.
Most manufacturers will not accept any warranty claim on a product that was not sold by an authorized dealer.
Refurbished items are even less likely to remain under warranty.
The problem for the manufacturer is the paper trail.
With an authorized dealer, the manufacturer knows that it is his product, how it was shipped, when it was shipped, and that the retailer will respect the contract and the product.
Any other seller? It could be a counterfeit. It could have "fallen off a truck". It could have been part of the liquidation by an insurance company after a fire or flood at the authorized retailer's shop.
It could have been purchased as a gift and been rejected as unwanted although it was perfectly fine.
The manufacturer doesn't know and the warranty is void.

Remember that the possible fraudster is the seller.
EBay does not have any guarantee on products sold on their sites after 30 days.
