I didn't received all my items from a seller.

Hi,

I didn't received all of my items from a seller in ebay, I bought 4 thrust bearings and I only received 3 of them. I communicated today with the salesman and he replied to me promptly.

After replying all of his claims,I sent him the picture of the product that I received today with the missing item. He didn't replied back.

What is the procedure that I must take ?

Please, I need help, this is the first time it happens to me with a seller in ebay.

I didn't received all my items from a seller.

You purchased four Things.

Were these four separate purchases or were they a multiple purchase from a single listing.

The seller shipped two packages of two Things each.

While most sellers would ship all four together, it can be less expensive (or attract less duty) if more than one package is used.

Were the packages tracked?

Is there any indication on the packages that they were different weights? On the tracking information online?

You can open an Item Not As Described dispute over the missing Thing.

Since you received something, I would not suggest a 'not received ' dispute.

You may be required to return the Thing you did receive in order to get a refund.

Send pictures of the packages and the Things you did receive to the seller. They don't actually mean anything in terms of the problem, but it may ring a bell with him.

If he is not in Canada, and eBay requires him to send return shipping, he can do this using Shippo, which sells both Canada Post and USPS shipping.

(From his replies, he is not in China. So, whew.)

Generally, it is not a good idea to agree to a replacement. Better to return what you did get (with the packaging for the seller's information and consideration) and make a new purchase after the refund.

I didn't received all my items from a seller.

Disputes are opened in the Resolution Centre at the bottom of this page.

The first suggestion is to contact the Seller, which you have done.

This is often the fastest way to clear up a problem.

But  don't get deeply involved with this.

You want the fourth Thing or(preferably) a refund for the Thing.

You have only 30 days from delivery to open an eBay dispute.

At this point, the seller sounds pretty straight. You could accept a replacement for the missing part, if his feedback- including FB left for others-- sounds sensible.

A FB rating of 98% or better would be the minimum for trust on this.  And read any negatives for patterns of non-delivery or other problems. A one off problem is no problem, you look for patterns.

Basically if the seller does not refund you (or gets a replacement to you in very short order) he loses the Dispute and you are refunded by eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

If you are refunded, and then the Thing shows up, you can return the refund using Paypal's Send Money service.

I didn't received all my items from a seller.

The products are from Canada and yes you are correct the shipments were made in 2 separate package and it says 0.540 Kg on both of them. Now my question is how am I going to get a full refund if there is a missing item, in which the package says clearly 0.540 Kg on each, BUT there is a missing item !? I suspect that both packages were weight at the same time and they assume they were of equal weight and they ended up putting the same weight ratio stickers. If this is the case, the express post service did a bad job and the seller got away with it...

I GOT AN IDEA, I am going to weight them separately and see if the numbers add up, if I am right, I will to communicate promptly with the seller about it.

BTW, I checked the weight of the bearings and they are 0.304 Kg each respectively ! If I had all the 4 bearings on (this is without the plastic packages) they will weight a total of: 1.216 Kg. Both package with their 3 bearings weight only 1.080 Kg !!! Clearly, I am missing a bearing and the express post service weight both packages at the same time and split the weight values assuming they had the same content ! EUREKA, I love science !!! Numbers never lie !!! And the truth shall set you free !!!

It sounds as if your seller is conscientious but a bit in denial. If they’re located in Canada, ask for a replacement. Usually, I recommend against this but when the seller is domestic and can ship with tracking, you’ve more assurance you’ll get what you ordered in the end and it’ll be left to the seller to decide whether he feels he needs to purse a ‘tampered’ claim with Canada Post. I mean, it’s not impossible the fourth thing fell from the package in transit but if it did that’s still the seller’s problem and not the buyer’s problem to bear.

If there never was a fourth h bearing, all you can do is ask for a refund. Maybe this person ran short by one and hoped you wouldn’t notice. I’ve had this happen buying specialty parts in the past. Like, if I’m building a car from
LEGO, three wheels aren’t doing me any good: we needed four which is the reason I ordered four. But I digress...

You can buy a StarFrit digital scale at Canadian Tire in the kitchen department for under $20- often under $15. Mine weighs up to 5 kilos.

I guess, he was in a rush and he forgot to put the other bearing in the package. I did ask for a another bearing with the exact same measurement specs, but sadly, he doesn't have another one. Anyways, the good news is:  The seller was very nice, he refund me for the missing bearing with the shipping + handling cost.

It's fine, I got all the engineering specs on the net about the bearing's weight, loading and measure data. I saved some money and time !!! 🙂
