Newegg Canada store apparently royally screwed up

I purchased a small item from Newegg Canada on eBay. Over the years I have purchased several hundreds of dollars of merchandise without issue. However, the latest purchase was cancelled with a cryptic reason of :

"Buyer requested shipment to an unconfirmed address.

Additional information provided by the seller: "

which is completely incorrect. When I contacted Newegg a CSR went and checked and said 

"Our records show the order was canceled because eBay has the wrong tax amount listed for your zip code. Please contact eBay directly to deal with it. EBay is the one canceling those orders when the tax amount isn’t right."

Further research on my part showed other Canadian based sellers have no problem charging taxes.  It appears that Newegg Canada eBay store is not charging Canadians any taxes but whose orders for Canadian accounts are being automatically cancelled. Sigh.

Did you buy the items from NewEgg Canada eBay store or from Newegg Canada website? The issue is with their eBay store front. Repeated attempts to point out to CSR that it is Newegg Canada who are the ones that should be interfacing with eBay Canada reps since they are the merchant.

I am the buyer and should not have to spend time straightening out issues with a merchant's eBay store whichis NewEgg Canada's position.

Again the issue is with Newegg Canada eBay store not Newegg Canada website.

Last time I used NewEgg Canada website to purchase items it never had the "Ships From Canada" and the only way was to go to check out and look at the shipping description.

I had the same problem with and order being cancelled, as well a my friend. Same issues listed above.

I have contacted Newegg in the U.S. and they agree it's a problem on the Newegg Canadian side. They did not have any contact information for anyone on the Canadian side, to help get the problem fixed. They recommended i post on Social media, to get the word out, and get someone's butt in Canada moving. Yes, Newegg U.S. recommended that. They also recommended filing a policy violation on Ebay Canada.

I then contacted Ebay Canada and they said it was DEFINATELY Newegg Canada who has to resolve this issue. NOT the customer. Newegg Canada still insists i should resolve their problem.

Ebay also recommended filing a violation of policy, which i did. So the only way to get any action, is for people to keep filing a policy violation with Ebay.

So like others, from now on, i will use Newegg, just for a price match, to buy it cheaper at another competitor.

Good .  Newegg Canada  on Twitter is useless. They just believe what some employee that is responsible for eBay store at Newegg tells them that the issue is with eBay Canada, not Newegg. It's a Newegg issue since other eBay sellers in Canada have no issue calculating tax correctly. It is still going on and Newegg Canada was featured on eBay Canada main page. 

I too filed a violation of policy as well. You would think after all these months someone at Newegg would wonder why there is a high cancellation rate on the Newegg Canada ebay store. Seems no one at Newegg gives a darn.

This is still a problem almost half a year later.

Not being charged taxes, CSRs not caring.

If the item was the same price on the site I’d be fine but man I don’t wanna spend $40 more and have to pay for shipping just cause of some programming issue.

Either way I’ve declined the email asking to cancel. Will see what chains I can rattle.

THey will cancel it anyways just like they did for me back in late August 2020. Newegg Canada simply doesn't care since the bulk of their sales are done via their website at higher prices sometimes than their eBay store. I even reported Newegg Canada to eBay and it did bleeping all but that is eBay standard operating procedure. Its Newegg problem to fix not eBay as I have purchased from other eBay merchants in Canada and their stores have no problem charging one or both taxes.

Just the other day I happened to look at an item from Newegg Canada and they are now actually charging taxes on purchase which should not cause the automatic cancellation of an order with a nonsense excuse. I really would like to know whose fault this misconfiguration was that must of lasted 6+ months here on eBay. My money is on Newegg since tax was being assessed properly with other Canadian sellers.

Over the years I have shied away from using Newegg Canada due to their antics over the years.
