I am in Canada and bought & paid for items advertised from Canada 5 days ago but never got any update from seller as if they were shipped or when to be shipped then today i contact eBay asking eBay to send email to ask seller to update shipping info. Few hours later I got update from seller saying that item is being shipped just few hours ago and also I found out items are shipped from HongKong not from Canada as in the ad said. That means I will have to pay at least extra $500 for tax and duty (value of $2950). The seller is no more eBay registered right before he sent me shipping tracking. I can't see the item from my eBay summary anymore because seller is no more registered with eBay.
How should I deal with this situation ? This seller has no manner and doesn't answer email and now un-registered from eBay. Please help me as I am new to eBay.

Thanks for the tag @ypdc_dennis!
Hi @ch_2753 - I'm sorry to hear about the way this transaction went. The good news is that you should be protected via the eBay Money Back Guarantee. In situations where a seller is 'no longer registered' we'd want you to contact customer support so they can review your purchases and see what they can do to help.
If you have already opened disputes with PayPal, however, you will need to go through that process (you aren't able to open a dispute on both eBay and PayPal). Thanks!

They won't arrive, because they have never existed.
You may get something, but it won't be what you ordered. A picture of the item or a bead are commonly mentioned in these vapourware schemes.
However, eBay and Paypal are even handed on this, they assume both parties are honest or at least that they don't know which is dishonest.
I suggest that you phone Paypal and point out that the seller is now Not A Registered User (NARU). EBay has kicked him off the site for nefarious actions.
This may move up your item to be closed and refunded before arrival.

I won't be able to get the duty tax refund
Yes you can.
The information on how to collect a refund will be on the back of the CBSA bill.
If you go to pick up the item, ask if you can open it there and compare what is in the package with what was declared. This may help if the clerks are cooperative. Pick a quiet time of day- probably around 2 pm.
and I will have to pay for return shipping.
No.
You only have to return to the address of the seller (which is apparently in Canada) not to the address it was shipped from overseas.
With an eBay dispute, the return shipping is paid by the seller. If he doesn't, the buyer wins the case, does not have to return the disputed item, and gets her refund.

I realize that the MBG ship may have sailed as there is a case upon on PP but I have a question....Isn't there something in the MBG saying that in this case the buyer would be eligible for the MBG even if they refuse the package? I know that normally refusing the package can void the MBG but because the seller lied about the item location and is using a courier which will cost the buyer unexpected fees, are they allowed to refuse it and still be covered ?
What sort of case did you file with Paypal....an item not received? You might want to ask PP if you would still be covered by an item not received case if you refused to pick up the order.

Hi @pjcdn2005!
You're right on both counts, MBG does cover refusing the package in certain circumstances, such as:
If the parcel was damaged during shipping
If it arrived postage due or 'collect on delivery' and there was no mention of additional postage fees prior to purchase
If a seller misrepresented the value of the item on a customs form, leading to exorbitant custom or duty being charged.
There are other scenarios that could potentially be covered in a refusal situation, but they'd need to be reviewed by CS directly. However, even if coverage options existed, if a PayPal dispute is opened we aren't able to proceed further with MBG.
