Proud mother here. DD who chose Mergers & Acquisitions law department, because she loves the heights of power, was working on a very big deal (hint--it closed Monday, one announcement came from Germany, the other from Detroit). She was the only woman attorney in the room as the deal was signed. She was surrounded by men worth billions. She attained her dream, she is at the height of her profession and had to fight very hard to be there. Last year she worked on the biggest M&A ever. Honestly, it is like being the mother of an FBI agent--we never know what she is doing until the deal is signed. She has just been mentioned in NY Lawyer. What I am especially proud of (and I know other mothers will "get" this) is she has decided to walk away. She loved what she did, and she makes a huge salary, but has decided she would rather have time to jog in the park with her DH and he agrees. I feel so blessed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you God.

You can be very proud of DD. She accomplished what many or most in her professional will take a lifetime chasing and never reach. If it is the deal I'm thinking of she was in an important position.

But then to be at the top and to make the decision she is making shows real character....and thats in the genes ya know....You did a fine job raising her.

You be as proud as any mom can be. Your DD will cut pathways that others can follow.
But she has found real riches...and they do not lay in the top always but in areas that really count.

She will see that she will be much better for it.

I just want to say that Jerry Falwell was not my favourite Christian leader, neither is Van Impe, or anyone else for that matter, but I have never witnessed such disrespect for a human life as I have on some of the threads on CTS. I don't think there could be more disrespect for the departed if a modern day Anton Levey died.

More and more as time goes by there seems to be a widening gulf separating Christians and non Christians and I can see the day coming when the persecution against Christians will be the norm.

I think we need to be prepared for that. Of course some Christians won't have a clue what I'm talking about. That is also the norm today.

but I have never witnessed such disrespect for a human life as I have on some of the threads on CTS.

Well Raphie Falwell didn’t show much respect for people….accusing innocent people of being responsible for 9/11. What a load! Then his friend Pat Robertson another minister calling for the assassination of another countries leader. Respect? When you give respect you get it back...Falwell failed. You reap what you sow....you've heard of this?

As for Anton Levy, one may disagree with him but he never condemned innocent people. He was just a scam artist….same as Falwell and Robertson….just a different scam in reverse. Rather appropriate considering.

There’s nothing wrong with Christianity in it’s true essence. It’s the fanatics that give it a bad name. Only they need to worry. So the question is….are you worried?

I think a lot of Christians know what you’re talking about. Probably why so many pass you by. They don’t condemn, they don’t hate….so they have no worries and they are not buying into your fear recruiting concept. Sorry. Maybe you could try opening your heart and mind and try a different perspective. You might even like it.

Dr. Falwell's family is grieving their loss this weekend , like many families worldwide.

What ever of Dr. Falwell's life and works were of God will stand in a coming day. Whatever was not of God will be burned in the fire.

We have sent our condolences to his grieving widow through Liberty University and hold her in our hearts and prayers.

There's that constantly repeated lie again....but it's all some of you got left I suppose. I could say that your unfortunately mistaken Tom but I’ve explained it enough times in TS that I'm sure you know I am NOT anti-Christian but choose to ignore my explanations and prefer to create someone for you’re followers to dislike in order to bring them into the fold. Same old ploy. I have nothing against Christians and I’m NOT anti-Christian.....I'm anti-fanatic-Christian and anyone who would preach hate towards others falls into that category. Same as any other religious belief….use it to condemn others for no good reason than it’s written in some book, or has been manipulated from some book and I’d feel the same way. Falwell preached hate even to the ludicrous concept of saying that innocent people were the cause behind 9/11. You avoid discussing Falwell and what he has said and decide to go after those who disliked him. Could be you even agree with Falwell, which may be the logic behind your defending him.

I'm not sure I agree with you either, Gary. I think that was a lie (of the "devil") LOL

As for my statement that he is anti Christian, that's not a lie, that is (and remains) my opinion. It's not that I choose to ignore his explanations, it's just that I choose to disagree with them!!

But I am hopeful and do pray for this (and every) man's salvation.

One thing that I do agree with though, is that anyone who would preach hate towards others is WRONG!!

As for Falwell, I've heard of him but I have never heard him. I don't know what he did or did not say or preach. I have never defended or condemned him. I have no idea whether he was a Christian or not. But God knows. My condolences do go out to his loved ones.

AS for fanaticism, why is it that if someone sides with a sports team, he is called a fan; but if someone sides with Christ, he is called a fanatic?

For the record:
I stand FOR Christ!! (call me what you will)
I stand FOR the inspired (God breathed), infallible word of God (the bible).
I believe in salvation for sinful men (a generic term meaning "human") through the precious shed blood of Christ on the cross of Calvary.
I believe that "Christ died for the ungodly".
I believe that Christ died for ME!!
And I believe that Christ died for YOU (whoever is reading this)!!
