My 'other half' sells under the ID barkyd. We live aprox 3000 km apart. Instead of announcing to the world where exactly I am going on holidays I just post I am going to Barkyville 😉

Getting ready for the arrival of guests from Calgary staying for a week. Too bad it is the 4th they are arriving, because we host a July 4th BBQ. I did warn them that they would be surrounded by homesick Americans, there would be lots of red, white and blue, off key singing of "America the Beautiful, God Bless America and The Star Spangled Banner." We will sit on the deck and watch the fireworks over the San Juans.

I love both countries, and I am back home in Canada, but I remember the pangs of homesickness of being settled in another country. ((((Julie)))) and any other Americans here, hugs to you all, I am glad you are here and hope enjoy your day tomorrow.

Yesterday I went and picked up some oxygen for my Mum...she uses it at home intemittently (since the lung radiation), but somehow didn't think she would need it at my house. (?? I'm not real sure of that logic ??).

WOW - what a difference 😄 .We even managed to go out for lunch where my 24 year old DD had us in stitches.

Today I have arranged a surprise coffee klatch with some of the women she worked with at Marks & Sparks when she lived here some 20+ years ago. She'll cry, I know she will, but it will be good for her soul. :-x

Good afternoon ladies. Hi April...countdown to your wedding is quickly moving along. Hope all is going well.

What and I mean what a beautiful day it is here. If I could can or bottle it I would enjoy it year round. Finished work early so home checking the boards and emails etc.

Do we all realize that each of us every day are able to reach out in our own small and sometimes not so small circles of influence and touch someone's heart for the good. We can smile, not with a plastic one but with a genuine smile that says Hey, nice to see you today. That smile can be contagious and it just may be what that passing aquiantance needs at that very moment.

Maybe it is just being there for an ear that some one else needs, just at that moment. It says , Yes I do care.

You know maybe if we all practised that which we know to be good with as many encounters as we can then at the end of the day, maybe just maybe our own little part of the world would be a little bit better.

That friend that we have been meaning to call for ages...you know the phone is just right there and maybe just maybe if we were to pick it up and just gave a smilely call it would make someones day a little better.

How about that poor person that asks us for a coin on our way to the office. What if we gave the coin and a meaningful How are you? Hope your day goes well smile along with it....

Just thinking here...so well, Hi there CTS. Smiles and hugs to you all. I truly hope each ones day goes well and that you pass it along.

I am just flying by--but what great posts! Hi TOB (glad you had such a great lunch, Hi Debbie, Hi April, once again, thank you Andrew, I love to read your posts, and as always, Hi Julie. A little stressed here, one of the guests is as she said, "allergic to everything" and both of them need the computer because they still have to work even on vacation.

Off to take them to meet other friends of theirs--on the way back, dropping off the tables, chairs, etc. from 4th of July BBQ, then home to take a nap.

I frequent an antique fishing lure thread and ran accross a link to a family journal who are going through the extreme sadness of losing a young son to cancer. I thought this was the appropriate thread on CTS to post it. It is very evident this is a God loving family who will get through this as they have been assured of their ultimate destiny.
