What's your favorite 'flip' story?

Happy February! I was watching some reality shows recently (Storage Wars, Antique Roadshow, etc) and it got me thinking about how some of those 'finds' appear pretty staged, and I knew that our Community probably had better stories

This month I'm curious to hear about your favorite flip story - have you come across a great steal that you knew you could turn for a profit? Or did you have an item that you didn't think would do well and it ended up being a huge money maker? Share your story below!

Those look like costume sketches-- do you live near the Stratford Festival?

Yes, they are costume design sketches created by Canadian designer Olga Dimitrov. In retirement she resided here in the Kawartha Lakes region of southern central Ontario. She was I think originally from Czechoslovakia  where she trained in theatre and opera. She emigrated to Canada in 1968 where she established herself costuming stage productions as well as TV shows, feature films and even some TV commercials. She achieved professional success winning several industry awards for her design work.

Nah … these were the early Corner Gas concept characters … borrowed from Philadelphia Story and the Johnny Mnemonic movie.

Memory Lane- when I was in university, I have a vague memory of a friend buying clothing at a Stratford Festival clearance sale.

Mostly he wore a medieval hat, green with a tail....

Sort of like this, but plain green wool, with a fabric tail rather than a feather.

We were at the bus stop one day and Mike resplendant in green hat and red beard was clutching a pink teddy bear.

People kept looking at him. They couldn't see his baby daughter in the Snugli on his back.

It was the Sixties, so I may have the details a bit fuzzy. The hat is clear though.
