Re: Canada Post Expedited Lite is now available for all eBay categories

I checked an item I have offered with Expedited lite. The rate displayed according to your post is 5.99 Toronto to Yellowknife 5481 km. 8.15 with fuel and tax. I am in Calgary 2290 km to Yellowknife. Rate displayed is same 8.15 with tax and fuel using the eBay Calculator special rate option. Is the special rate flat  vs total distance based...basically anything up to 200 grams?  Without knowing the fuel rate that is being applied (by ebay) and the fact it changes monthly it makes it difficult to attach a flat rate charge to listings for this service. (Note. All other Canadapost services...Expedited, Regular, Xpresspost vary based on distance and weight levels and then factoring in tax and fuel). In theory the only things that affect the final rates for Expedited Lite are the applicable tax and fuel surcharge?

Note. Ebay calculator does not clearly show applicable tax and fuel surcharge when expressing rates. The CP calculator does as a matter of standard practice.

I'll point out that Canada Post adjusts the fuel surcharge every week (Sunday midnight EST).  Not sure how ebay labels handles that.

www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/support/kb/sending/rates-dimensions/fuel-surcharges-on-mail-an...

This week is unchanged at 29.5% for domestic, 16% for USA/Int'l Packet, 18% for USA/Int'l Parcel.

I wasn't sure if it was weekly or monthly. The concern being it is not transparent as to how and when it changes and the amount. The system should follow the exact same rules as what 1 sees on Canadapost. In random checking I have seen different discount levels between what is supposed to be charged with a level 4 countract with CP and what ebay shows when you process an order.

All probably another reason why eBay sellers would prefer a clean invoice break down of fees for those that require for accounting purposes.
