Best offer being Automagically added to listings.

We've all heard random reports of items suddenly having best offers added mysteriously. On my Hub page, from past views I had approx 600 to 800 with Best Offer added. In checking today I suddenly have just over 1000 out of 1250 that have best offer added. (No...I have not been going in a willy nilly adding best offer to listings in my leisure time.)

Has anyone been able to determine a way to find out when this is happening? Or is the only way by waiting until something sells and being shocked.  Also does anyone know if automatic accept gets turn on using a minimum?

Can't say for sure but the reports I've read indicate the auto Best Offer happens when you list using the App or the old Basic listing tool. Seems like it works the same (in the US) as GSP getting auto-added.

I have also heard but can't confirm that the auto-BO comes with an auto-decline at 50% of the listing price.

While I get the rare message from an interested buyer looking for a discount I have never had a formal offer. I almost never look at my own listings so eBay could add it and I would not see that until someone made an offer.

As you probably know I have not listed a single item with eBay's listing tools since March of 2001.

With the new format of views (Monthly vs historical) it will be very difficult for most sellers to tell if a listing is super old. The best judge was a high view count. In testing for 1 listing by opening I could tell the majority of views were when listing was first created. Slowed down subsequently. If eBay is going to add best offer to a listing at their discretion the seller should be advised. Only a seller knows how much wiggle room they have.

Why is it difficult? The exact date a listing starts is available in the Seller Hub -> Active Listings

If you don't see the Start Date column just click the Customize link and add it.

@recped

In doing some more testing, I re-added date...I removed date as a column years ago. I have always relied on views as a judger for refreshing listings. Before they rolled over.
