Hopefully eBay will do a better job than the October 2016 event.
From my eBay January Seller Newsletter ...

That is about the first day when there will be absolutely no listings in US dollars on eBay Canada.
100 % Canadian $$$$$ on eBay Canada.....
This is our new reality.... Many Canadian sellers are still adjusting to ....
selling in US dollars on eBay.com ....
OR... selling in Canadian dollars on eBay Canada....
OR selling on both eBay.com and eBay.ca... selectively.

Yes noticed that in the newsletter also. I do sell on both sites but I know last fall's promotion did not do anything for me. So am not expecting anything great this time either but who knows maybe I will be pleasantly surprised. One can always hope.

Let me guess, it goes along with ZERO free listing promotion for Canadian sellers.
There have been no listing promotions for ALL Canadian sellers since August 2016.
Yet many US sellers are receiving listing promotion opportunities monthly. Those sellers have become preferred at our expense!

Also true: Yet many Canadian sellers are receiving listing promotion opportunities monthly.
But it is somewhat of a mystery how eBay.ca decided who gets an invite.

I've had at least one per month since August (on some id's).
I've had none on this id but on other selling id's I'm getting them.
The people getting them are "preferred" (or lucky) but it's got nothing to do with being Canadian or American.

It probably comes with another .ca only coupon to fuel buying

Yes, that's right. Next week is it, after so many years.
It's a difficult pill to swallow, because now that eBay has fixed the .com "cart disconnect", listing on .ca in $USD would work perfectly!
I made the switch to .com over a year ago (because of the cart disconnect), so I have had time to adjust, but I'd still prefer to be back on .ca, listing in $USD. It unfortunately seems like a "no choice" choice for me since over 90% of my buyers are in the U.S. I've basically been chased off .ca by eBay's changes.

It might be fixed for US Buyers but it isn't fixed for Overseas buyers. Plus the stupid mandatory IPR has been showing up more recently.

Now appearing on the title bar:
http://www.ebay.ca/rpp/buy-canadian
Appears the only thing it does is turn on the Canada Only location option.
Does show Canadian sellers who list in US$
Does not prevent listings from the rest of the world showing, if the number of listings from Canada is small.
...
Now if eBay could whack down those sellers pretending to be based in Canada.

It says ... Buy Canadian
and .... My sales dropped to zero... after a very hot January so far....
and... It all started on January 17.... for two days of no sales....so far....
Bye Canadian

And I'm the opposite, my sales on eBay picked up January 18.
I don't think this understated campaign has anything to do with either result.
...
For comparison 80% of my January sales on the AZ were in a 24 hour stretch last weekend.
Figuring out internet sales is a bit like reading the tea leaves in the bottom of a cup. Rather murky.

I'm curious -- are you listing exclusively on eBay.ca? In $CDN only, or do you still have a significant number of $USD listings? I can't recall, but I thought you mentioned at one point you had moved from .com to .ca (or perhaps the other way around). I'm interested in knowing what the outcome will be for you, since many of your items have particular appeal to Canadians.

All listings are in Canadian dollars.... shipping cap for books on eBay.com... moved to eBay Canada (2008) when this was introduced
Major category is History Canada... about 75 % of my listings.... If It is even remotely related to Canada's history the book shows up in History>Canada.... As an example Canadian military history is listed in History>Canada where I have about 450 Canadian Military history books listed ... Also Canadian sports history...
Then other categories such as..... Birds of Canada...... Canadian art... a lot of Natural history about Canada
Followed by Mennonite history..... major settlements in southern Manitoba..
Ukraine and other books Ukrainian..... my ancestry
Hockey is still there but less prominent....
...
I do sell select book in other categories.... science, engineering, architecture, agriculture. I have gotten better at finding these books... of very good value
Back in September 2008 it was decided to go everything about Canada and identified as Canadian.
Closed my store for July and August.2016... Opened September 1 and have not stopped selling particularly since the middle of November...10 week window to start selling..... after a two month holiday
Listing in Canadian dollars works for me because of what I sell... with a 90 % plus focus on topics relating to Canada and everything Canadian.
My US buyers are there... and perhaps mainly because of what I sell... and then those select books of very good value....

A bit of a rest will not hurt......before the emphasis becomes the finding of inventory at charity and church sales as well as elsewhere.
ATS..... After The Snow...
No more big snowstorms expected.... But then... this is Winnipeg
