I tried Shippo, but was unable to buy a label, getting an "unavailable" notice.

My labels on SnapShip are printing "painfully well". $19.38 expedited for an $8 200 gr expedited lite order to Creston.
You probably know you can hover over the customer info from your eBay inserting it to your clipboard and cut & plaster to SnapShip
What you may not know, at least at my end, is that today on SnapShip if you cut & plaster the buyer's phone number SnapShips makes up a random number so you do need to check it and enter it manually.

Ebay's fault on that one...Canada post system is up and runing but not available on ebay

I'd really suggest signing up for additional shipping companies that you can use as a backup in these situations. That same parcel (I'm guessing on your exact postal code and dimensions) would be $14.74 for Canpar, $17.16 for Purolator, or $11.72 for ICS through Click Ship. It would be $10.50 through Sendle. It's still not ideal, but it's always good to have backup plans.

I have forgotten how to use shippo from ebay. Can anyone refresh my memory of it. Has anyone contacted ebay directly regarding the shipping not working?

Remember why we use Tracked Labels.
They are needed IF there is an INR dispute.
That's all.
Besides some emotional pink fuzzies.
We don't need to use package rates for shipping within Canada if the item is less than 500g and 2 cm thick.
Buy what you need.
The UPU has laws. EBay has rules.
@flipistics - The $12 label I bought through Snap Ship was $77 with Fedex.

Thank you for the suggestion. Most of my stuff is international. I'm too far from the border to use a 3rd party except Fedex or UPS. There's one Sendle here located in a Dollarama on the other side of the city. To keep in shape I deliver 95 % of my shipments to the acceptance point by bike. Besides CP the only terminal I'm close to for time spent is UPS. I only use them for high value or heavier items needing special insurance or options.
In most cases the buyer cost for shipping and packaging should be lower than their cost for the widget. In Kelowna only Exp Lite can do that domestically. There's also a very strong reliabilty factor particularily for international sales that pass through various last mile couriers. I use eBay, CP, Shippo and UPS for labels and insurance. Since 2013 this group has never lost or damaged a single package. Knock on wood.

Ya ya ya... I'll stick with my tracking thanks. You know what they say about people who ride motorcycles without a helmet...besdies I'm allegic to tongue cuts and glue on stamps...LOL
You may get lucky when they privatize Canada Post and the monopoly on lettermail ends because the first courier to have lettermail tracking wins. Don't shoot the messenger. Best to blame another 1.034 billion bailout.
Ottawa Sun Quote from the Faser Institute July 2, 2025
"Alongside privatization, the federal government should also eliminate Canada Post’s near-monopoly status on letter mail. This policy is purportedly meant to ensure universal service. But in reality, it prohibits other potential service providers from entering the letter-delivery market (including in remote areas that may experience less Canada Post service post-privatization), deprives Canadians of choice, and crucially, reduces the incentive for Canada Post to improve its service."
Item: 1984 Guitar & Bass Brochure. Tracked Package International to Germany cost $16.08.
Weight" 150 Grams. You get lotsa bang fer yer buck! Of course after you lick your stamp you can pray and hope for the best...

I tried to print the label from "My eBay" page
I tried from the order details page
I tried on eBay Canada English
I tried on eBay Canada in French
Nothing is working
Note : I even tried eBay US, but the problem was the fact that I live in Canada

This seems like it is an eBay problem, and not a Canada Post problem. Other platforms are now up. I waited all day to see if it would be back up and then I bit the bullet and used Shippo.
Assuming this isn't fixed by early Friday afternoon, this will likely have cost me $100+ or more out of my pocket, since my prices are structured around eBay's discounted Canada Post rates, which are much lower than Shippo or level 1 Canada Post.
Yes, I could ship everything late, but I don't think that's fair to customers who placed orders as early as Monday night to have to wait an entire week for them to be processed.

I've noticed that for sales made through ebay.ca it works, but not for sales made through ebay.com
07-03-2025 07:45 PM
Mine is still showing temporarily unavailable if I use 'get another label' on ebay.ca
07-03-2025 08:05 PM
Mine did not show all day for any sales, a variety of Canadian and USA sales. All made on different days. Although, it's possible that the Canadian buyers checked out on the dot com website.
I have two Expedited Lite orders sitting unshipped that I will bite the bullet on tomorrow and spend an extra $15-$20 total to ship both with whatever cheapest Canada Post shipping is available or UPS. One is a PO Box, so it will likely have to go in an $18 flat rate box.
It's been two mail cutoffs since it was supposed to be available. Hopefully, it's back by Monday morning.

Finally able to print labels again as of 9am on July 4th. Now how not to get dinged for all these late shipments..
07-04-2025 11:18 AM
Thank you!

Well. What a shock. I am able to print labels today but as expected..I do not see any of the Canada Post discounted rates available as per the agreement with eBay. Spoke to "live chat" which of course was a complete waste of time and claiming that they do not know about this issue. My buyer paid about 30 minutes prior to the system downtime for Canada Post so they received the discounted rate. I was unable to purchase a label until this morning. Now there is no discount available. eBay did not understand the issue at all. Solution suggested was "ask buyer to pay additional shipping" or "cancel the purchase". Yeah right! Allegedly this is being escalated but they would not provide a ticket number or any info to act as proof of this. No resolution. No announcement as far as I can see.

Did the deal between Ebay and Canadapost end ??
07-04-2025 06:47 PM
I don't think so. Something is definately still not working right.
I'm trying to do a label for a USA Tracked Packet:
"Same dimensions each time"
99g it's $6.51
100g it's $14.03
101g it's $17.99
102g Tracked Packet completely dissapears as an option
BUT
103g is $7.19!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
So something is definately still not working right.
