Does buyer get notified that item has been shipped?

Does the buyer get notified by email from eBay when i mark their item as shipped without tracking? Or do i need to email the customer myself?

Thanks!

They should. I usually get a "SHIPPED: ______" e-mail when I buy something.

Yes, it’s automatic. The subject header is something like ‘Order Update: Shipped’ even when tracking is not applicable.

If you are not sure, use Contact Seller on their Feedback Page or on the listing.

The latter is better.

Ask for the date of shipping, the service used, and the tracking number.

If there is no tracking number, that is NOT a problem. Just note on your calendar the last estimated date for arrival that eBay gives you.

If an item is coming from overseas, you can usually find location information on the national postal website until it reaches Canada at which point it will turn up on Canada Post's website.

The Orders page under Seller Hub has a record indicating when the purchased item has been shipped.

If the parcel had tracking, then there will be a delivered notification.

We as sellers see this record.

The buyer will also have this record presented on their purchase page...
