By this time of the month, there is often a hint of some kind of 'free' listing promotion. I've hit my BIN limit of those included with my store subscription and I'm staring at 300+ unsold. Should I hold out re-listing them in the hopes of a promo? Or bite the bullet and spend the required ten cents each to get them out there?
Or... was there a party that I simply wasn't invited to?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Thank you mjw and feemmfan for the quick and thorough explanation. So if the item has a UPC and a description on .ca, it should also be on .com, correct?
Also, does listing on .com mean that domestic shipping is USA, and Canada is mixed in with International shipping rates? So I can use the GSP( just kidding)? Now I know why ebay thinks all of my automotive listings are shipped from the States.
Thanks again for the explanation, I don't think I'll move any over, but any new listings may be started on .com.

I don't recall that the UPC is transported over. You can cut and paste the entire description over though, if you keep two windows open on your computer at the same time (one with .com, the other with .ca). I had to go through this when I moved a few dozen listings over to .com recently.
One thing I discovered is that you can reconstitute lost gallery photos by pulling up the existing .ca gallery of images, right-clicking on each in turn and saving each as a .jpg on your computer. Once you have all the pictures copied to your computer, you can open the .com draft listing, and simply upload them all again to the Gallery on that side. Much easier than having to take all new pictures!
And yes, "domestic" on .com is U.S., so make sure you set your shipping rates accordingly. What I did for international is to set two separate flat international rates, one for Canada (which is cheaper), and one for other international destinations. Actually, on some listings, depending on the size and weight of the item I set 3 international rates, the third to cover more far-flung places on earth like Australia.
I found it was time-consuming and required intense concentration and attention to detail in order to move listings over to .com, but it can be worth it for the extra free listings (in my case a whole second store full of fresh listings).

It looks like you use auctiva to do your listings? If so, it is a bit easier to set up .ca listings on.com although it still involves some extra work.
On auctiva saved listings click on the listing that you want to relist on .com
Save listing and then click on Create a similar listing (before I do that I usually click on preview and leave it up so that I can copy info from the listing)
On the top right of that listing change the site to U.S.
You will have to reenter the category, item specifics and shipping info.
