Final value fees assessed on consecutive "large" orders

I have many listing with variations.  It appears the maximum number of line items in a order is 40, and a buyer who wishes to purchase more than 40 variations would have to split their order into batches of 40.  On the seller side, I get charged a final value fee for each batch.  I don't think a seller should not have to be charged multiple final value fees in this situation.

Refunding the seller any final values that are result of consecutive orders of 40 items may be a bit challenging, but it would be great to increase the maximum number of items in an order from 40 to a much larger number.

The OP is probably referring to the 40 cent fixed transaction fee, you can only combine a maximim fo 40 items in one transaction so if a buyer want 45 items they will be split into two transactions each with a 40 cent fixed fee.

I doubt eBay will every change the 40 item limit which has been in effect since forever and I would guess that 98+% of sellers will either never or only once every few years encounter this issue.

The few sellers who run into this I say, suck it up, 40 cents will not have much if any impact.

I bought a large order from someone in the USA recently and they were able to issue me an invoice for 100 items at a time, but I suuspect they have a deal with ebay to be able to do that or are using some sorta third party software that may allow them to do that. Eitherway 40 has been the limit for a long time (and as a sports card seller it can be annoying at times, mostly when buyers dont graps the concept)

I have auctions ending today, and one customer will bid on more than 40 items... if I can invoice him for more than 40 items I'll let you know. It's also on eBay dot com, so I'm not sure if things are different on the dot ca site.

At 99c gross per card, an order for "only" five cards is a money loser.

Fees would be 40c +68c+ 96c = $2.04 to a US state without sales taxes on a customer payment of $4.95.

Not counting packaging costs and labour.

Do any sportscard sellers ever list as  Get up to 40 cards for $39.95! Free Shipping!  ?

I just invoiced 76 items. But it was on the dot com site, so YMMV on the dot ca site.

Apparently this was an unannounced change on .com in December.

Somebody needs to test and confirm if this also applies on .ca (not that I will ever need it).

It might be an idea with unannounced system changes where they start making them official vs keeping everyone in the dark. An improvement or any change for that matter have little value if no one knows about them. It just creates added frustration.
